Re: Games Acquired 2017
Last night I got on the 3DS eShop and decided to pick up a few more games, so here's what I got:
Adventure Bar Story $5.99
http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/ad ... -story-3ds
The Legend of Dark Witch 2 $6.99
http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/th ... itch-2-3ds
Xeodrifter $9.99
http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/nx ... stZfVegD1E
BUGS vs. TANKS! $7.99 (was waiting for this price to drop, tired of waiting)
http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/jj ... K_DcbBE0Rv
After installing those, I currently have 38 eShop games installed on my 3DS XL. I've just about got everything I was ever interested in. The only 3DS eShop games left on my get-list are:
Yumi's Odd Odyssey
Weapon Shop de Omasse
Pushmo
Crashmo
I'll nab those sometime this year.

38 isn't nearly enough! I will have to post a list of my 3DS eShop games at some point. It might give you some ideas.
Also, and since I know that the PS Vita is more your thing, have you played Severed yet? I completed it last year and really enjoyed it, and HG101 just posted an article on it. According to the article, the PS Vita version is the definitive version of the game, and I think you should check it out if you haven't already.

Well I do have over 70 physical 3DS games in addition to the digital ones, but yes post your list of 3DS eShop games sometime. I'm sure there's some good stuff I don't know about.prfsnl_gmr wrote:38 isn't nearly enough! I will have to post a list of my 3DS eShop games at some point. It might give you some ideas.
Nope. I actually hadn't heard of Severed until you just told me about it. This appears to be a digital-only game in Vita land, so that's why. I've purposefully abstained from buying digital-only Vita games because I refuse to buy one of those over priced proprietary memory cards to support the storage.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Also, and since I know that the PS Vita is more your thing, have you played Severed yet?

That's too bad. I am really surprised it did not receive a physical release for the Vita. (Apparently, it wasn't released on Android either...Exhuminator wrote:Nope. It's a cool combination of first-person dungeon crawling and swipe-based combat. Here's what I wrote when I played through it last year:
prfsnl_gmr wrote:Severed is - basically - a first-person, tile-based, dungeon crawler with swipe-based, Punch-Out!!-inspired combat. In it, you avenge(?) your family's death by navigating intricate dungeons, slaying monsters, and upgrading your abilities. During battles, you fill a "focus" meter that allows you to hack pieces off of defeated enemies at the end of a battle, and you use these parts to upgrade your character. The gameplay is, at the outset, incredibly compelling, but it wears a bit thin by the end of the game. (The mazes start to blend together a bit; the backtracking is tedious; and there aren't enough enemy types.) The art direction - consistent with Drinkbox Studios' other work - is exceptional, and despite my complaints, I was compelled to complete the game (i.e., explore every inch of the map, uncover all of the game's secrets, maximize all of my statistics, etc.). Accordingly, if the concept sounds interesting to you, I recommend giving Severed a shot. Just know that your mileage with it may vary a bit.

I believe this is a cross-buy with WiiU/3DS - at least it was earlier this month.Exhuminator wrote:Looks really interesting, I've added it to my 3DS eShop want list, thanks for the info.
Re: Games Acquired 2017
Bunch of cheapy stuff from Amazon Warehouse Deals just came in. Probably going to slow down after this. Going to limit myself to the BST and local stores/flea markets to keep my spending down
.
162. Monster Rancher Battlecard (GBC) $5.56 There was a Monster Rancher game on GB/GBC ages ago that a friend of mine had that I've always wanted to go back and play I'm pretty sure this is it so I'm excited to pick it up and give it a go.
163. Falling Skies: The Game (PS3) $4.74 looks like a poor mans X-com so I thought I'd give it a go once it hit sub $5.
164. Pop Star Guitar With Two Grips (Wii) $2.60 sadly it didn't come with the big box but the grips were there so no biggie given the price.
165. Dead Rising 2 Collector's Edition (PS3) $10.19 Ended up being new and sealed so cool beans. Great deal at that price.
166. Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (PS3) $4.43 One day in the next 20 or 30 years I might play a Dynasty Warrior and when that time comes I'll probably have 50 titles to choose from
.
167. Tenchu Dark Secret (DS) $4.11 Picked it up cartridge only a few months ago for a little more then this
. Nabbed this since it was CIB.
168. Rabbids Go Home (DS) $2.04 Was hoping it would be CIB or at least with a case. No luck though came in a case but it looked like someone had been putting cigarettes out on it and then caught the house on fire
so that went in the garbage. Was rated an (A) though so I wasn't holding my breath for CIB or anything.
