I enjoy the old EC stuff though not as much as watching Tales from the Crypt etc.

Haven't seen that movie yet but do plan to.

oh so you guys remember that big list of 90's books I wanted to read? I'm in the middle of Infinity Gauntlet right now, so still in 1991. The full list is 27 titles right now, and 13 of those are 1991-1992.

I wish Infinity Gauntlet held up better than it did. Still, it isn't bad or anything.

it's... it's not bad by any means. It's not great, exactly. Suffers a bit from the overlong narration bits that seemed popular at the time and can make a comic feel stretched thin. But it's decent. I'm enjoying it.

I have Infinity War on the list as well, and I have higher hopes for that one.

So far my favorite book from this little project has been The New Fantastic Four: Monsters Unleashed.

IMO Gauntlet was way better than War. You will have to let us know what you think.
After the original Secret Wars, Gauntlet is my 2nd favorite Marvel company wide crossover.

Here is my review for: Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity War

For those who don't want to read the whole thing here is the short version:
Infinity Gauntlet Conclusion

When I first read this mini-series in high school I didn’t get it. To me the story was just another all powerful dude trying to take over the Universe story. Not fully understanding the characters that made up the Astral Deities meant that I never fully understood the epic proportion of the overall story. When I reread this story I was armed with more knowledge of the characters featured and subsequently beaten down by Thanos, I fully understand how the actions in this story could have damaged the Marvel Universe. The only problem I had with this story was the ending. Not the part where
this semi new (new incarnation) character walks away with the all powerful Infinity Gauntlet without any argument from Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, but instead I have a problem with how Adam Warlock took down Nebula. I wondered this back in high school and I still wonder now, if Warlock could become one with the Infinity Gems why didn’t he just do that at the beginning as soon as he was revived?
Infinity War Conclusion

Unlike The Infinity Gauntlet, this story was not a reread for me. When The Infinity Gauntlet was first released I didn’t really enjoy it so I never bothered reading th sequel. After rereading The Infinity Gauntlet for the last set of Recommended Reading, I was looking forward to reading the sequel – The Infinity War. Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy the sequel as much as the first.

I don’t know if it was the fact that that I never really felt any urgency that you would expect from a story where the whole universe is at risk of being destroyed. Or maybe because the incorporation of Earth’s heroes and all of their doppelgangers felt forced and unnecessary to the story that turned me off. No matter what the reason is, I didn’t really dig the story as much as I liked playing the Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems game on the SNES.

I read #3 (out of 6) of Infinity Gauntlet last night. This is where the real battle beings. It's getting good.
