I just ran directly at them and they all ran towards the cliff, then turned around and came back. Pressed A right as they bounced past and voila.MrPopo wrote:Stamina maxes at 3 circles (including the one you start with). So that's 10 upgrades being spent on stamina.
You are correct you needed a deer for that quest. I did it using the sneaky set; they're quite skittish. Fortunately, once you get on they calm pretty fast.

CFFJR: Really? I actually I guess in a way would be considered on accident did one last night which I had no intention of and it was pretty easy compared to some situational beatings I've had in the overworld. I cleared the Goron boss out last night and got one nice little upgrade +heart for the job too. Rito is the only one I have not done the run up stuff to the job yet for while I have for the zora and gerudo regions.
Xeo: I don't know if that's your being dodgy to imply, but yes there is an item (gear) that allows faster climbing.
I was going to wait and do the dungeons but accidentally cleared the goron one as I said, kind of wondering if I should just go do another one of them tonight. I'd be at 13 hearts then and we know what that scores.

I made it out to Eventide Island last night. It looks to be such a great little adventure, but it is certainly intimidating. I could probably make it through right now, but at my current level, I think it would be a lot harder than necessary. Accordingly, I will sail back at some point later in the game.
Also, I was extremely underpowered for the "major test of strength" shrine on the way there. I almost defeated the guardian, but when he switched to his laser at the end of the battle, he finished me off pretty quickly.
So...basically, I played for several hours, made almost no progress, and enjoyed myself thoroughly. That's what video games are about!

Doing it over again, I would do Zora, Rito, Goron, Gerudo. Gerudo is not a difficult dungeon (just annoying) but the fight is far more annoying than any of the others.CFFJR wrote:For what it's worth, the Rito dungeon is by far the easiest. Though that actually isn't saying much since none of them are particularly difficult.
I only played for about two hours last night so I did another mining operation/hunting expedition into the wild north. Killed a guardian, had a bloodmoon as I was grabbing his parts, killed him again. Finally had enough money for the last fairy and the house. Upgraded the house several times - Lynel Bow is now safe (until I kill the next one) and the Meteor rod that is about to break will always light up that corner. Only completed two more Shrines, but I had some good fun on the way.
Learning how to kill game and keese with bombs makes the game much easier. After I complete the game I may go for a 3 heart run. I heard that speed runs are down to 50 minutes.

I've only done the Zora dungeon so far, but I found it really disappointing. Easily my least favourite part of the game so far.
I normally love a good Zelda dungeon, but it's clear that the dungeons here weren't designed to be as fleshed out as in other games. That's fine, but the old-school dungeons are definitely my most missed thing in this game, for sure.

It's definitely true that the main dungeons (at least from the Zora and Gerudo ones) aren't nearly as intricate as other Zelda games, BUT you do get 120 mini-dungeons with the shrines, so I think it balances out in the grand scheme of things.alienjesus wrote:I've only done the Zora dungeon so far, but I found it really disappointing. Nothing in the shrines ever gets fleshed out enough of has enough scope to be as truly satisfying in the same way if you ask me. They're fun, but it's quite a different and honestly, stripped back experience for the puzzle loving Zelda fan.ElkinFencer10 wrote:It's definitely true that the main dungeons (at least from the Zora and Gerudo ones) aren't nearly as intricate as other Zelda games, BUT you do get 120 mini-dungeons with the shrines, so I think it balances out in the grand scheme of things.alienjesus wrote:I've only done the Zora dungeon so far, but I found it really disappointing. Not quite down to 50, but they're racing to get there. Last few runs have been 58, 54, 53. It takes about 30 minutes to finish the Plateau, then the rest is spent getting to the castle, traversing it (getting some equipment along the way), and fighting the boss rush. I do plan on trying out the route sometime in the future, though I'm sure I will die a ton.fastbilly1 wrote:Learning how to kill game and keese with bombs makes the game much easier. I agree on preferring more traditional dungeons. In most other Zelda games, I felt you had to "endure" much of the overworld to get to the dungeons (not that the overworld was bad, just less interesting and fun compared to the dungeon stuff). In BotW, I feel like the shrines and pseudo-dungeons are so much less interesting than the overworld stuff. If this game had more traditional dungeons AND its amazing open world map, it would be absolutely perfect. Even as is, it is quickly becoming my 2nd favorite Zelda game...and I could see it displacing LttP by the time it is over...
I'm really taking my time with this, and have been working on unlocking towers. Thus far, I think I have all but 2-3 climbed/unlocked for fast travel
