Yeah I have only come across 4 as well only one was frustrating.MrPopo wrote:So far I've run into four shrines that required gyro controls, though one of them was a super simple linear use the gyro to hammer a ball into another ball on a track so it's impossible to fail. I've done a total of 72 shrines. So unless you really want the classic clothes from beating all 120 they are very optional.

I'm pretty sure I've only come across 4 so far too. I think I've done between 40 and 50 shrines so far.

Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
I just started playing this a couple days ago and I'm having a great time. I'm still on the isolated plane and my daughter is having fun hunting, cooking, and climbing things. I do have a question though. Can someone point me in the direction of the next shrine? I passed the one where you get the magnesis rune but I can't find anymore, except I think there is one in the frosty mountains. It's a sad request I know but I seem to be stuck.

Jim, there is a shrine in the frosty mountains. A good hint for that one is to find the old man by his cabin and you should be able to figure something out from him...
There are two other ones I beat before that one though. If the magnesis shrine is the only one you have so far, try going to the top of that first tower that popped out of the ground. It should lead you in the right direction.

I'm behind the shrine count at about 35 or so but I went for the towers and unlocked the entire map.
Big map for sure!
Big map for sure!
Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
I'm up to 82 shrines beat and it's getting harder and harder to find new ones. A bunch are definitely gated behind quests so I don't get a notification when I get near. But there's a few areas that I haven't done a super thorough job exploring. We'll see how many I get before I cry uncle and look up a list online.

One of the big themes in the game is using the high ground to your advantage. Teleportation back to the big tower and look around and you should see the other shrines you need to visitjmbarnes101 wrote:I just started playing this a couple days ago and I'm having a great time. Yeah, I was going to suggest the same. All of the first 4 shrines can be found by searching from atop the tower.
I beat my first real dungeon today. I did the Zora's Domain one first. It was decent, but pretty easy (including the boss), but hey, maybe that's because I've spent hours doing anything but the main quest line

So... Frost Spear = Guardian DESTROYER. I still only have 6 hearts and can be one shot by the Modest Test of Strength's (seems a low level defense buff didn't help at all haha) , but I just beat one in what felt like 10 seconds. It couldn't do anything from being frozen and then my charged up barrage stab attacks. An attack buff might have made it even quicker.
Are you guys focusing mostly on upgrading the weapon sash right away? That's what I'm doing since I haven't really felt the need to carry more bows or shields yet.
25 Shrines
33 Korok seeds
I don't use the stealth buffs much, so I just cooked up a ton of that stuff and racked in about 1,000 rupees that way.
Lightning wizards suck. And anyone finding any good use with the wands? Maybe crowd control I guess.
Anyway to check your game time?

Re: Zelda Breath of the Wild - Wii U vs. Switch
I didn't really have time today to play, kind of didn't want to as I have other stuff, but I made myself go into it and decided to knock off every single (possible) shrine for myself and found 1 as I was doing it too popping around the map. I got 10 shrines down (2 aren't both MAJOR tests I can't clear.) 2 orbs remaining in pocket, just added +2 hearts (now at 9 hearts and 2/5 stamina upgrades.) Also got the mini quest for the jeweler done and a couple other little ones. Parked it at Eldin, going to try and figure out the path to the Gorons, it's the last one I need to find for now (town wise) and then it's them and the Rito pre-story stuff before the big beasts.
I'd like to think I could find another 10 shrines, but it's going to take finding a map or slogging around blindly for it. I want those 13 hearts for you know what.
