Need advice please on duplicate birthday present

Post by Curlypaul »

My neice has been banging on about what I great wii game she has got me for my birthday for months now. I was expecting Carnival Games or something like that, but I was forgetting that we grew up practically living in the same house so she is surprisingly educated when it comes to saturn games. My birthday finally arrived and she gives me a copy of Nights Journey into Dreams: which would have been a great choice if I did not already have it.

I didnt tell her this as I didnt want to burst her bubble but this leaves me with a tricky choice... do I keep this game sealed and stash it in the collection or do i ebay it?

This game currently sells on ebay for just £5-10 at best, even sealed like this copy which is making me think I should keep it, although I doubt it will ever be worth all that much and I'm not into sealed collections either. What would you do?

I would def. hag on to it. In the future even if it doesn't become of any value, you can still have it to remember the event. Sentimental value of sorts?

I concur... keep it. You never know what the future will bring as far as sentimentals go and possible monetary value.

I would stash it deep in the collection. So she will never find it, and so you cannot accidently open it. Like the others said, its not worth much on the open market, but it may give you laughs down the road.

Yeah not really worth the money you'll get for it. Just put it away somewhere and who knows the value might go up someday. Anyway she'll just figure the opened one on the shelf is the one she got you. . .

Yeah... its not really worth reselling. You might as well put it away for a few years, the game may have some value down the line

My experience with anything SEGA is that right now it goes for peanuts, but in 3-5 years you'll be shelling out some hard cash for it in good shape if at all.

In other words keep it!

throw it at her and accuse her of being "so insensitive to your needs" that you "just want to scream."

do it, trust me. it's the right thing to do.
