I tried Wolf Link once and thought it was cool for about 2 minutes before a bunch of those Guardians turned up and wasted him within seconds.

I was enjoying myself last night before I hit my first motion-control tilt-puzzle shrine.

What the ever living fuck? I have never seen worst motion control sensitivity in any game ever. I spent 20 minutes moving my Switch all around at various speeds and angles and could NOT get through the shrine. Ended up leaving and putting the game away for the night. Do I have to complete any of these to finish the game?

Also, throw me in the "weapon-breaking sucks" camp. I've seen this design gimmick done well, but BotW handles it poorly. (Far Cry 2, a game from almost ten years ago, does this waaay better and in an open world setting...).

As far as I know the only shrines you have to finish are the first four that give you your powers.

Of course it is wise to do some for warp points and health and stamina upgrades, but you can certainly skip plenty of them if you want.

It's again worth noting by simply discovering the shrine it becomes a warp point, you don't have to finish it to unlock that or anything.

That's probably the shrine Bogus and I were knocking on a few pages back. Randomly and frantically shaking around the Wii U gamepad got me through it... I haven't seen one of those since then thankfully.

How are you guys playing? I've had zero issues with any of the motion control ones so far and I'm using the pro controller.

I know the puzzle you speak of. It's definitely not Super Monkey Ball gyro controls. I ended up placing my controller across my palms and manipulating with small, slow, subtle motions. I used a catapult technique at the end of the puzzle. In short, I found it mildly annoying. :P

If it is a maze you are talking about...I cheated. There is another gyro puzzle though that is genuinely frustrating that I came across. The only thing I haven't enjoyed in this game... it was genuinely annoying. All the other gyro puzzles I have come across worked a lot better than that and were a breeze.

It took me like a minute to do the maze and I didn't even cheat. Just saying :P

I could have easily did the maze, I just noticed that was a thing and did it that way hahaha. All the gyro puzzles...minus one have worked super easy.

So far I've run into four shrines that required gyro controls, though one of them was a super simple linear use the gyro to hammer a ball into another ball on a track so it's impossible to fail. I've done a total of 72 shrines. So unless you really want the classic clothes from beating all 120 they are very optional.
