I am letting my eight-year-old daughter name my horses. Right now, Cocoa and I are on our way to Kakriko village. Apparently, I will also have horses name Blackie and Bluebell at some point. (That is ultimately Calamity Ganon's fate...to be killed by a mop-wielding elf riding a horse named Cocoa. )

Apparently a known bug, I borrowed a Link Amiibo from my friend, but I used it during the opening section of the game, apparently it is bugged. If you use it for the first time before leaving the opening area you can't get Epona from it.

Minor, but annoying. Would be nice if they fix it so it is the first time you use the amiibo outside of the opening area.
In a way that kinda makes sense. I can't think of any way to get her down from the Great Plateau. She'd be stuck up there. At least that's how it seems to me, but I haven't returned to the Plateau even once since the start.

In any case, I'm sorry you weren't able to get Epona. That's a huge bummer because she's great.

Have you tried again since? Amiibo can be used once each day.

Yeah, I was just using Amiibo before I got out, did not even know about Epona until after. So it makes sense if I knew about it, but just don't let you use it until you are out or something, I dunno.

Apparently she only spawns the first time you use the Amiibo, I used it at the start and she did not spawn, all it spawns after the first time is fruit and chests and stuff.

Some people have said they go her and did not know you have to go to a ranch to keep horses, they have lost her for good as well.

Not the end of the world, just sucks a bit.

Does the Twilight Princess Wolf Link amiibo do anything?

It gives you wolf link as an ally for the day. Though if you teleport around and climb a lot he gets lost pretty easy. I did it like twice before I stopped bothering with it. Good little extra though.
Also I finally finished the Shrine on the island that is a big labyrinth. Did it without guides or anything and it took me quite a long time.

There may or may not be a horse that is better than epona in the game.

In some of the threads for speedrunning the game they say that the way you guarantee an Epona spawn is to use the Amiibo in the presence of other horses; you might try that.

Will do thanks!

I wish there was a way to equip armor sets (is there?) I have the rock climbing gear, wish i could assign them all in one hit.

My progress has ground to a halt. This game is such a smash hit at my house that I haven't been able to play it since last weekend.

With Switches in such short supply and the fact that Nintendo is the drug of choice among my family, I'm seriously contemplating the acquisition of another Wii U.

Y flips between sorting your armor by slot and by set, so if you do the latter you can quickly assign all three pieces of a particular set.
