So, there's a huge break between the earlier Divinity titles and the latter. In a lot of ways, Divine/Beyond Divinity are somewhat Diablo-esque.
Divinity 2 reminds me a little more of your Euro RPGs like the later Gothic games. It's supposed to be quite solid.
Original Sin is another total change, and is almost a TRPG, with you expending action points to move, execute actions, and whatnot. I haven't played a lot of it, but I like what's there. And the game has a weird (but good) sense of humor.

Kamil is my main, Valsu is my partner, I was just curious to see if I could flip characters and flip back. I'm not looking forward to fighting EsunaAck wrote:Honestly chief, who are you using as your main character for this run? Because Valsu takes some time, but he's the most broken character in the game after a certain point, and you really do not want to be on his bad side. He becomes impossible to kill at a certain point.SNESdrunk wrote:Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. You might end up having to take the on in a tough fight with nothing to gain for it.

TO:LUCT
33 hours in, still in the Hanging Gardens.
Battles have been:
Foot Of The Gardens (cleared) > The Serpent's Spine (cleared) > Echoes Of Her Passage (cleared) > Songs Of Raven Hair (currently engaged) > ??? (don't know what this is yet)
So at this point I've cleared 59 battles, with at least 2 more to go.
Too much of a good thing, Matsuno.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Yeah--. You're on the slowest path through the Aerial Gardens. The number of battles is in the double digits, either way, but you've got quite a bit left.
It took me 70+ hours to finish the Saturn version, though. So from my perspective, you're flying through the game. I spent time farming the Temple of the Dead in order to recruit a powered up Deneb, but that wasn't 35 hours worth of time. (It was likely due to all the training, and random battles).

I've been playing Anearth on the Saturn. Unfortunately the pirate king (who has an oddly effeminate tick in his speech patterns) won't let me take the key he has that unlocks magically locked doors. Also, I was forced to witness the 60-something year old swords-woman in my party, potentially, molest my 15 year old main character. Never thought I'd see that in a game with a 'general audience' rating.
I guess I should have RTFM before starting this one, since I could have actually chosen who adopted the main character in the opening scene, thus choosing my character class. This 'default' of Sacred Vanguard seems to be the Red Mage of the game, so that's not the worst.

Duuuuuuuude lemme know how you feel about this one upon completion. I just got the PCE original and I'm excited to try it when I get a chance. Looks intriguing.pierrot wrote: I've been playing Anearth on the Saturn. Re: RPG Progress Report
I stopped playing Tales of Eternia. Undine and then Zelda happened.
Five Tales played and zero beaten. I may need to retire this series.

That is nothing man. Deep dungeon, 99 battles. Some cool unique monsters in there, and good loot.Exhuminator wrote:pierrot wrote:you've got quite a bit left

Re: RPG Progress Report
Unfortunately I find the campaign battles to be so banal and repetitive, that I cannot see the appeal in burning many more hours doing optional ones. No offense meant, I know you love Tactics Ogre. But I've learned playing it that you and I have very different tastes in SRPGs.Jmustang1968 wrote:That is nothing man. Deep dungeon, 99 battles.
