Yeah...if I were one of them, I would try to kill Link on sight too. You can't really blame them for hating him so much. (I liked the time I accidentally set some dry grass on fire while I was trying to cook some mushrooms...starting a tragic chain reaction that left at least four bokoblins dead. Whoops!)

Also, I love the intense combat with the ones that can one-shot you. So much fun!

Watching them go up flame broiled style put a smile on the face knowing they can't get into taking a couple shots to finish you off. Any stragglers I run in while they flail around and cut them down in a single swing. Doesn't work so well against those huge freaking Moblins though. I tend to drag a slow fight on those with bombs and the occasional arrow if needed since they are large enough for a one hit kill (undead skeletons or living.)
Pro-tip on the moblins is to counterattack them. Their moves are heavily telegraphed so it is easy to time the Dodge for a flurry attack.

Again just a tip. Everyone has their own method for encounters and that is part of the magic of the game.

My 14 year old brother in law will ALWAYS use the magnet ability to take down foes if there are metal objects around to fling. He is really good at using that thing.

My wife uses the best strategy... run. It is funny to watch her squeal as she sprints by lizalfos.

Also note I got Epona from the smash bros. Link amiibo. max stats but you can't rename him when you register because he is legendary.

Also tHar particular link amiibo will randomly drop ocharina of time themed armor. I have a few pieces of the wind waker themed armor from toon link.

I played waaaaay too much of this last night. I might zombie through today.

It's good, y'all. I finally got the glider, so I've got to get used to using it. I played for about five minutes this morning just to get it out of my system. I was tempted to bring the system to work, but with no case, I decided not to. Plus, I'm trying to be a good employee here. (Honestly, I doubt I'd have been able to get into playing it here, anyway.)

Handheld mode still looks great. The changes in rendering are pretty subtle, and hard to pick out on the screen, so that's a good thing. It really does feel like a completely uncompromised console experience on the go, which is amazing. (It's not too different from how the Vita likely would have felt at launch, although this seems another jump over that for sure.)

And it's rather astounding how open the game is. I'm going to end up addicted to finding and completing shrines, I know it.

I'm slightly annoyed about breakable weapons, but the game also doles them out like candy, so it's more inventory issues than anything. Oh, and I also got a warm doublet for climbing up to the top of Mount Hylia without the proper equipment.

I may disable the gyro aiming, it seems pretty twitchy to me at times. It might be because I've jacked up the camera speed. That default rate is way too slow.

My wife got the warm doublet the same way as you. She got to the top with 20 seconds left of her warming effect and thought she was doomed.

I got the doublet by finishing a recipe for the old man and my brother in law didn't get the doublet at all and used torches to keep himself warm.

Which recipe did he want, anyway? The way I got to the top was cooking a meal with boar meat and the spicy peppers. 10:30 of cold resistance is super-helpful. :)

In his cabin there was a journal for a recipe that he made buy forgot. It was just meat, fish and hit peppers. you make it and give it to him at his cabin when he is sitting by the fire and he gives it to you

Totally missed that, I just used a torch. Now that I keep skirting the cold area I probably should go get a doublet, or make that meat and pepper recipe.

I HATE the towers that have enemies that continually shoot at you. There is one with guardians, that was fine since it was thematic and you had alittle breathing room. But theres one with 3x wizzrobes and a bunch of lizardfos's archers. Thats just crap.

If that crappy tower is the same one I am thinking of, my wife took it down by going onto the high ground, fought the lizalfos and was able to jump higher up on the tower. It could be a different one though.

I know the tower you are talking about, Faron Tower.

The one I am talking about is far west on the map. Its in the middle of a lake, no way to fly in that I could find. Asking a buddy of mine, it is the Ridgeland Tower, and it is a pain for everyone. The one with the Guardians is the Central Tower in Hyrule Field - north of starter area.
