Trudging through 7th Saga, I have a couple questions...
1, is it possible for two CPU controlled characters to join up? Or when you run into them, is it always going to be just one?
2, If you're able to convince more than one person to join your party, are you able to switch them out at will? Or do you have to randomly run into them again to get them back? Asking because I'm curious about using Esuna but I want to stick with Valsu as my 2nd

Re: RPG Progress Report
so I did fire up Divinity: Original Sin. The female character I did the thing where I try to make the same character I've used in a bunch of RPG's starting with Dragon Age Origins (and then Pillars Of Eternity, Skyrim, probably others?). The male character I just left as the default but changed his class to Fighter to compliment her bow-and-arrow stuff.
Only got to play for an hour or so. But first impression is very good. Reminds me a lot of Pillars except for the fact that this has turn based combat. I actually didn't know that going in, and I'm super happy about it. I may be the unpopular opinion on this (?) but I much prefer turn based combat in my RPG's. It's a breath of fresh air here as you don't tend to see it in modern RPG's anymore.
The world seems very open. I initially found some tomb and stumbled my way through it. Then I came upon some guys fighting some ogres so I helped out. Then I talked to a wizard disguised as a cat, who seems to have given me my first real quest - though I'm not totally sure what quests are story quests, which are optional side quests, and ultimately I'm not even sure if the game totally works that way. Again, it seems very open. There isn't much linear "start of the game" to follow as far as I can tell.
At any rate, I have a feeling I'll be enjoying this game a lot.

I don't think you can have more than one CPU player join you. As for the second question, Ack or Bone would know.SNESdrunk wrote:Trudging through 7th Saga, I have a couple questions...

I've got a save file about 40% of the way through 7th Saga. I need to get back to it and finish it up. I might swap one of my gaming resolutions out for this goal actually.
PLAY KING'S FIELD.
Re: RPG Progress Report
To answer the second question, you would need to run into them again and hope they are still amicable. You might end up having to take the on in a tough fight with nothing to gain for it.

it's awesome, man. At least from the tiny bit I've seen. There's online (and local) co-op as well which is really interesting.Jmustang1968 wrote:Noise, I've had Divinity on my to play radar for awhile, been sitting installed in my Steam Library. I even Kickstarted the sequel. I need to get on it.

I tried Original Sin for a short time, but didn't get back to it. Then again, I've only gone as far as installing Tides of Numenera (which I backed on Kickstarter) and Wasteland 2 (which was $5 at Gamestop), haven't even run them.

Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. ThanksAck wrote:To answer the second question, you would need to run into them again and hope they are still amicable. You might end up having to take the on in a tough fight with nothing to gain for it.

Re: RPG Progress Report
In one sitting I've found Original Sin far more compelling than I did my one sitting of Tyranny. If that means anything. So far Pillars has been my favorite modern day Infinity game... but just one sitting has me thinking that Original Sin may just dethrone it. Again, the turn based combat goes a long way for me. But also just the way the world works. They way you can move objects in real time. The way elements react - be it shooting a barrel of water to extinguish nearby flames or using a fire arrow to ignite and burn off poison gas. And I mean, this is stuff that happened in just my first 60-90 mins with the game.isiolia wrote:I tried Original Sin for a short time, but didn't get back to it. Re: RPG Progress Report
Honestly chief, who are you using as your main character for this run? Because Valsu takes some time, but he's the most broken character in the game after a certain point, and you really do not want to be on his bad side. He becomes impossible to kill at a certain point.SNESdrunk wrote:Ugh, that's what I was afraid of. As for the Divinity titles, I own two and have yet to play any of them. Does anyone know how they play when compared to, say, Inquisitor or Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader?
