Gyro remote shrines. I cheated on one and never looked back. had to get a ball through a maze... I just flipped the maze complete over and flicked the ball into the goal.
Dude, wish I had thought of that. I did it legit. There are more gyro puzzles as well, and not all can be cheated like that. One involves smacking a ball into a hole like a round of mini golf.

The gyro ones are easy... You just need steady hands and to make very careful and precise movements.

If the game let's you do it, it isn't cheating! (Also, I read this pro-tip in a review, and I plan to use it when I get to that point.)

Dude, we're probably thinking of the same thing and that's exactly what I did too... accidentally. I was getting mad and flailed, the ball launched off screen from what I could see but I heard it land in the ramp and thankfully it bounced and went in.

Getting destroyed in these Test of Strength ones too. Guess I still need some better equipment and such.

Test of strength is the guardian combat right? I don't know how many of them there are, but you have the one in Karariko, and then you have another on the path to Zora. That one people are hating online, videos about how it it takes like 10-20+ tries as people keep fouling it up. It had me paranoid about it when I realized I was IN it at that point, but I only ate it once. It's really not bad, just do a game of keep away and hide behind the pillar, and for the last stretch just run in with a heavy sword and thrash it before it fires (a second time as you can't get close enough on the first.) That one the first part you pillar hide with a lock, hop around and smash. Part two a spin laser causes an updraft which you can ride, but I found it easier to sit just out of range, and hit the thing in the eye with the arrows from range (more steady.) The last part, run like hell away at an angle from the chain of shots that fire off (they do like 3 hearts damage.) Once it's done, run in fast and slash away with your heaviest hitting piece and it dies.

I hated the test of strengths, but I've done a few now and it's not too bad. My advice is, if it's not working and you're trying over and over again, then walk away and come back later. Also try doing them in some sort of order. Don't do major hard ones before the minor ones. Also coming back with stronger equipment, more experience and more hearts makes the battles easier.

I've only died to one test of strength, when I had six hearts and didn't dodge the axe swing in time on a Major. Otherwise they've been a good source of new weapons and drops for some eventual equipment for the late game. They really are a test of just how well you understand the combat in the game and just how klepto you are at making sure your weapon inventory is full.

I was probably a few hits away from beating one of them, but then the Guardian went SSJ or something and beam spammed while all the pillars in the arena were destroyed, so I had like no cover and was one shotted. Fighting Guardian's/Rock enemies seems like a sure way to break your weapons quickly too...

Is there any good reason/reward to expand the Hyrule Compendium?

I did one of the Major Test of Strength where I would be eating it after one hit. After about 10 times I came out on top and got those blue laser weapons. The ax alone had an attack power of 60. That's the highest attack power I've seen thus far.

So in the final phase you can actually just circle around him while he's firing; unlike the Guardians in the overworld he has enough of a delay on firing that if you're constantly circling he'll never hit you. Then when he rests and recharges lay into him.
