Gameboy (THIRD PARTY)
- Nemesis (gradius - $5-10)
- Street Fighter II or Samurai Shodown ($5-10 your choice, SS more accurate full roster)
- Super Mario Land 1 or 2(both are $10 tops)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fall of the Foot Clan ($10)
- Gauntlet II ($5-10)
- Gargoyle's Quest ($10 if patient)
- Burai Fighter ($10)
- Quarth ($5-10)
- Revenge of the Gator ($5)
- Mega Man in Dr Wily's Revenge ($10)

Gameboy (NINTENDO ONLY)
- Donkey Kong ($10 if patient)
- Kirby's Dream Land ($5-10)
- Tetris (or any Nintendo branded puzzle like Tetris Attack, Dr Mario, Yoshi's Cookie)
- Kid Icarus Myths and Monsters ($5-10)
- The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening ($10)
- Solar Striker ($5)
- Trax ($10 if patient)
- Alleyway ($5)
- (Any Nintendo launch sport game - Tennis, Baseball, etc) ($5~)
- Kirby's Block Ball ($10)

A bit of an honorable mention only because they usually are easily had at $12-15 -- All 3 Final Fantasy Legend RPGs (aka SAGA) and Final Fantasy Adventure (Seiken Densetsu prequel to Secret of Mana.)

GAMEBOY COLOR (THIRD PARTY):
- Cannon Fodder ($10)
- Dragon's Lair (laserdisc conversion) ($7-10)
- Dragon Warrior Monsters ($10)
- Disney's Aladdin ($7-10)
- Project S11 ($10 if patient)
- Revelations the Demon Slayer (aka Last Bible) ($10 if lucky $15 tops)
- Shadowgate Classic ($5)
- Toki Tori ($10)
- Top Gear Pocket 2 (or if you prefer V-Rally at same price) ($5-10)
- Warlocked (clone of Warcraft 1) ($10)

GAMEBOY COLOR (NINTENDO):
- Crystalis ($10 if patient)
- Donkey Kong Country ($10)
- Game & Watch Gallery 3 ($5-10, same with G&WG2)
- Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening DX ($10 if you're not label wear picky)
- Mario Golf (or Tennis your choice) ($10)
- Megaman Xtreme ($10, not a fan but fans of MMX love it)
- Pokemon Pinball ($5-10)
- Pokemon Puzzle Challenge ($10)
- Super Mario Bros Deluxe ($10)
- Wario Land 3 ($10, #2 is too)

I hope this set of lists for both Nintendo made and third party help. There's a minimum of 10 each per system per publisher, some I left options on as they're more or less the same price/genre/play style like Mario Golf/Tennis or SF2 vs SS1 for a fighter.

No problem.

Project S-11, research it, you'll be surprised. Not to ruin the details, but a classic demoscene (pc, etc) group had a crack at it. The game breaks what people figure as the limited expectations of what a GBC game can do. Music on it sounds like that out of control chiptune madness from such groups. In game, you have so many sprites on screen it breaks the rules and is nuts as it doesn't slow the game one inch. One weapon is like a lava ball fountain basically, longer you hold, shorter it gets to uselessness. But if you pump it, it tops the screen and rains backwards wrecking all sorts of stuff and you probably have 50 of those coming down on top of your sprite, enemies(many) and their shots.

Top 10 Wii games under $10 (going by VGPC and Ebay sold listings, complete) -
There are a lot of games still under $10. I tried to pick the best of the best as well as some that fly under the radar or people may like or dislike (Metroid: Other M). The list and honorable mention should give anyone trying out the Wii a nice blend of games that showed off what it could do.

1. Animal Crossing: City Folk
2. Boom Blox Bash Party
3. Endless Ocean (sometimes you can find Blue World for less then $10 as well)
4. Excitebots: Trick Racing
5. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
6. Monster Hunter Tri
7. Rayman Origins
8. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition
9. Sin & Punishment: Star Successor
10. Super Mario Galaxy

Honorable Mention:
Battalion Wars 2
Boom Blox
Conduit
De Blob 1 and De Blob 2
Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Elebits
Excite Truck
MadWorld
Mario Power Tennis
Metroid: Other M
Red Steel 2
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Sam & Max Season One and Season Two
Samurai Warriors 3
Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces
Super Swing Golf Season 1 & Season 2
Trauma Center: New Blood & Trauma Center: Second Opinion
My FS/FT/WTTF list:

The 10 best SNES titles under $10 is challenging because even stuff like NBA Jam Tournament Edition has crept up to $12, and the average SNES cart price has remained over $20 for the past year or so. I can't even use FF Mystic Quest as my token RPG since even that's close to $12 now. Anyway, here's my list...

10. HyperZone, a fast paced mode-7 rail shooter.
9. Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball, by far the best baseball game on the system and one of the best sports games ever made.
8. Super Empire Strikes Back, a tough-as-hell action platformer but arguably better than its predecessor.
7. Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose, a solid Konami platformer with a surprising amount of variety.
6. SimCity, limited but relaxing and fun.
5. Pilotwings, challenging as hell but the physics engine is at least consistent and reliable.
4. Street Fighter II, even the original still has great visual and sound design, and is worth playing over most 16-bit fighting games.
3. Top Gear, an exhillerating arcade style racing game with a wide variety of tracks and an incredible sense of speed.
2. Goof Troop, a top-down action game that's one of the best multiplayer games on the system.
1. F-Zero, one of the best racing games ever made for its flexible difficulty, variety of tracks and cars, and music.

Honorable mention to Addams Family Values (a perfectly okay top-down adventure game) and Boxing Legends of the Ring (exactly what it sounds like, but with a surprisingly great visual design and a good combat engine)

Snesdrunk and jmbarnes awesome list guys. Thank you so much for contributing to this.

So now even the snes has some good games to start with. As Nintendo products get older it's getting worse to find a Nintendo console that we can get and still get some of the best games for it and be under ten dollars. The only system so far I see is Wii and gameboy

I just didn't feel up to it at that point but GBA would be a breeze to pick at least 10 games in that price range worth it.

There are a lot of games to be had for $10 or less on that system still.

Yup that was kind of why I stopped on that one. The GB and GBC the libraries are small enough when factoring in a $10 limit for something that's truly worth your time and money. The GBA though you can score so much stuff at that $10 price including the NES/SNES period port titles too it would be easier to try and round out a list of probably 30 or more.
