I've played Xbox and 360 over at friends houses before so I've gotten mostly use to the controller design. I have no idea what the point of mods are, and I have no idea how to do them, so honestly, no, I probably won't be modding it. And once again, no. I already own a DVD player and a PS2 so I'm not interested in it as a DVD player.Ack wrote: Now, venturing away from the Psychonauts discussion, I've got a few questions to consider. First, have you ever played Xbox? I just ask because one of my biggest gripes was with the controller design. Even in games I enjoyed on the console, I always felt that the controller was garbage, hence my avoiding the console now. Second, would you consider modding it? The Xbox is well known for the mods you could do with it, and if you're interested in that kind of thing, it's definitely something to look into. Third, are you interested in it as a DVD player? It's just a little something to consider.
As far as the ports, yes, many are inferior, though since you don't have a high end PC, it may be your only means of playing those games, to which I would reply with "Sure, go for it." I would caution you on Jade Empire, if only because I felt the game was too short. I would also suggest titles like Genma Onimusha or Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams (since your location mentions Spain, it's Silent Hill 2: Inner Fears in Europe), but I like my horror games.
Is the Xbox really worth it?

It's most definitely worth it. I've been holding off on a 360 because there's still a ton of Xbox 1 games I'm still wanting to play. Get a used one for cheap. It'll be money well spent.

IMO the X-Box & 360 are the spiritual successors to the Sega Line of consoles, and what a symbolic passing of the tourch was it that the Dreamcast actually uses Windows CE.
So yeah, I think the X-Box is worth it, it's dirt cheap and you can mod it, upgrade the HDD and have essentially every previous consoles entire library, all in one conviniant box.
Also buy a Zune, because i do not want to be the only peron in the world who has one! lol

Re: Is the Xbox really worth it?
XBOX is totally worth it. Every multiplatform game was better on it, ranging from supporting more players both offline and on, better framerates, better textures, transfinite storage capacity for save games, better online, better headset support, actual downloadable content and update support, custom soundtracks, better HD support, actual in-game surround sound support, I'm sure I'm missing things.
It did have some great exclusives like Steel Battalion, Fable, MechAssault, etc.
Hacking one is very easy and turns it into a great media center or retro game emulator.

You couldn't pay me to use a Zune.scottykick wrote: Also buy a Zune, because i do not want to be the only peron in the world who has one! lol
I bought an 80 GB off ebay, sold it to get an ipod touch.
I hate Zune's software, I hate it's lack of features and the uselessness of it's wifi.
Even the Zune HD is pathetic compared to ipod touch. They finally added a web browser, but it doesn't even check email.
