I received a shipment of GB, GBC, and GBA games from Gamestop yesterday. They were all cart-only, but all of the carts were pristine:
Bust-a-Move 4 (GBC)
Double Dragon 3: The Arcade Game (GB)
Duke Nukem (GBC)
Gauntlet II (GB)
Grand Theft Auto 2 (GBC)
King of Fighters EX Neo-Blood (GBA)
Legend of the River King (GB)
The Lost Vikings (GBA)
Mortal Kombat & Mortal Kombat II (GB)
Pac In Time (GB)
Perfect Dark (GBC)
Serious Sam Advance (GBA)
It is kind-of a random assortment, but all of them are pretty hard to find in the wild. Also, GameStop's prices on these, particularly with the B2G1 sale and 10% rewards discount, were really good.
On the digital front, I picked up The Legend of Grimrock (iOS) when it was on sale for $1.99, and I picked up Phoenix Wright: Spirit of Justice (3DS) and Parascientific Escape Cruise in the Distant Seas when they were on sale. I am really curious about the second one and this whole "visual novel" thing...

I was going to ask what you ordered! Interesting selection, for sure. (We both got River King! Yay!)

Re: Games Acquired 2017
In addition to ensuring that a game was not in my collection, my selection criteria included:Sarge wrote:I was going to ask what you ordered! Interesting selection, for sure. (We both got River King! Yay!)
* cost $9.99 or less; and
* not have received a "greatest hits" or "Nintendo selects" release
I also eliminated a few games so that I ended up with a multiple of three. Finally, because I am a kooky collector, I now have both versions of Legend of the River King, the GB and GBC versions. My OCD is temporarily sated...
Re: Games Acquired 2017
I forgot there even was a GBC version. Huh.
I usually add one more caveat: it doesn't suck. Just so you know, Double Dragon 3, if you didn't know, sucks.

I know. I hate every version of that game.Sarge wrote:I forgot there even was a GBC version. Huh.

I am most curious about Duke Nukem (GBC). It is a 2D game like the very first games in the series, and it has extremely mixed reviews.
Re: Games Acquired 2017
The only version I like is the NES one. And even I can admit that it's a bit too hard to really enjoy as much as I could.

Not to much so far
.
Hit the flea markets today even though it was freezing. Not much outside as expected but I hit up one of the full time resellers that I really like. Even found a few Atari 2600 game I didn't have yet one even had 2 variants
. Spent $20 altogether.
1-12.
- WARTECH: SENKO NO RONDE (360) Been meaning to pick this up for a while it's become pretty hard to find in the wild though.
- Jampack Winter 2003 (PS2) I'm a sucker for demo discs so I picked these two up on the off chance I didn't have them yet. Looks like I have them both but my copy of the Jampack was listed with a quantity of 0 in my record so maybe the disc was screwed up
. Copy of the Exhibition disc is also in really good shape so I might swap it out with the one I currently have.
- Exhibition Demo Disc (Xbox)
- Iridion 3D (GBA)
- Ecco The Dolphin (GG)
- Breakaway IV (2600) Didn't have it yet it's basically break out no clue why it's call IV since it's the only game with that title
.
- Basic Programming (2600)- Interestingly enough I just picked this up to round out the deal since it was 2 for $5 with Atari games and it's actually a variant which has me somewhat curious as opposed to the standard CX-2620 part number it's a CX-2620-P and they bothered to put additional trade mark text on the label that isn't there on the standard text version. Probably nothing of significance but I always enjoy finding new variants. Edit: It's a pal release been a while since I bumped into one of these so I completely forgot
.
- Krull (2600) 1983 release Both are in okay not great shape but I was having a hard time picking which was the better copy. So when I noticed they were released in different years I just picked up both.
- Krull (2600) 1986 release
- Metroid Prime Hunters Game Case
- Sony PS1 Multitap
- Gamecube Controller Extension Cable
- PS2/PS3 Component Cable

Also picked up the Humble Civilization Bundle for $15 mainly because I've wanted to try out Beyond Earth which is pretty damn addictive even though the upgrade tree is confusing the shit out of me and will probably need a few play throughs to click with me.
13-21. Humble Civilization Bundle - $15
- Sid Meier's Civilization III Complete
- Sid Meier's Civilization IV Complete
- Sid Meier's Civilization V
- Sid Meier's Civilization® V: Brave New World
- Sid Meier's Civilization V: Gods & Kings
- Sid Meier's Civilization V DLC Pack
- Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth
- Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth - Exoplanets Map Pack
- Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth - Rising Tide
