I literally don't think I have ever heard you say that about any RPG, Bone. Are you sick?

Still chugging along in DQVII, and now - after 80 hours(!) - the story is starting pick up steam a little bit, I may have to see this game to the end before starting up LoZ: BOTW. I restored the world, defeated the Demon King, and resurrected the Almighty, but it turns out that he isn't such a great guy. (I suspect that he is the Demon King in disguise.) Accordingly, I am off on a quest to find the four elemental spirits before, presumably, one more show down with Orgodemir. I have Maribel back in my party; all of my characters are approaching level 40; many of my characters have mastered the highest level vocations; and the equipment I have gathered from enemies and in the casinos is much better than what I can buy in any of the available shops. I am also carrying around a vault of gold. Since the last few bosses I have encountered barely dent even my most fragile party members, I suspect I could take on the final boss right now. Here's where I stand:

prfsnl_gmr - Hero; Level 38; mastered Warrior, Martial Artist, Priest, Mage, Gladiator, Paladin, Champion, and Hero

Maribel - Sage; Level 32; mastered Priest, Mage, Dancer, Troubadour, Jester, and Luminary

Ruff - Mimic; Level 36; mastered Shepherd, Sailor, Thief, Pirate, Monster Masher, Berserker, Drake Slime; and Heal Slime

Aishe - Gladiator; Level 34; mastered Warrior, Martial Artist, Priest, Dancer, and Paladin

Sir Mervyn - Paladin; Level 35; mastered Warrior, Martial Artist, Priest, Mage, Sage, and Armamentalist

You are indeed very close to the end. I'm definitely looking forward to a final writeup of your thoughts on the game.

It's dubbed an "RPG" only because of its medieval trappings. In actuality, Druaga is a "maze" arcade game with inane "puzzles."

The first line will be:

"When you embark on Dragon Quest VII, you should ask yourself, not how much Dragon Quest you want, but how much Dragon Quest you can handle."

I think you will like it better than the first. But the weird Fire Wand behavior is still there.

That there is my exact problem with most SRPG's and tactics games in general. They have very poor pacing because there's no down time between battles like in an RPG. No time to just fuck about in town or whatnot. It's either reading exposition in between battles, going through menus to prepare for battles (shops, job changing, loadouts, etc), or the battles themselves.
