I really don't see why any of you guys play those Contra games, when the Probotector series is so much better.

Hmm, how do you feel about the behind the back levels? Personally, I don't like the behind the back levels, but I love the overhead levels.

Haven't played/gotten to any behind the back levels.
What do you love about the overhead levels? I find everything to be on an irritating angle, by the time I reposition the enemy has already moved...which isn't necessarily a bad thing...I just feel that it kills that pacing the side scrolling levels build up.

The overhead levels are easier and sometimes more exciting than the side scrolling stages. The problem you're experiencing is easily remedied by using the Spread Gun or the Homing Missile. Those stages with the Rifle or Machine Gun can really be murder.

Hard Corps is the best.

Frankly the nonstop bossfest is better than wussy little enemies running at you.

i bet this isn't true, but i'm intrigued enough to check it out and see if you're right. i've been meaning to play that game for like 5 years, anyway.

It's also the hardest Contra game I've ever played short of the last boss in Contra III. It is indeed a boss fest. The sound effects and music are kinda low quality but the graphics and gameplay are spot on.
