This will be shocking to some, but for me it is the Dreamcast.
I struggled to really get into many of the games besides a few, and I don't much care for the controller. And now as a retro console, it seems many of the better games have been ported to the Xbox or gamecube.
I have had a Dreamcast several times and always ended up selling it.
What retro system do you just not understand the appeal of?

I can see that, though. I know we had this discussion, but the Dreamcast's most notable titles are now available elsewhere. There's still fun stuff to be had there, but it's not quite as impressive now as it was at the time. (Which apparently wasn't impressive enough.
)
I think it's going to be very likely that we end up viewing the Wii U in the same way. I'm betting a ton of its best games are going to get moved to the Switch.

Or 3DS. Just look at Yoshi's Woolly World and Hyrule Warriors.Sarge wrote:I can see that, though. I know we had this discussion, but the Dreamcast's most notable titles are now available elsewhere. I had a thread about this last year, the pitchforks came outJmustang1968 wrote: I have had a Dreamcast several times and always ended up selling it.
I can see the appeal of the Jaguar - if only for rotary Tempest. I owned that system and setup for a bit and eventually got rid of it, but can "get" someone's desire to own and to play on one.
I similarly owned a 3DO because, on the surface, I get the appeal of its exclusives. In practice, though, I didn't enjoy those games and got rid of the system. Same with the NGPC.
Just real quickly on the 5200 - what would be something I can do on that system that would make it especially appealing and at least worth checking out? It is one of the few retro systems that I can't even understand why, other than for sheer collecting purposes, someone would want to spend any time with...

The ludicrously large trackball controller makes a good conversation piece I guess.dsheinem wrote: Just real quickly on the 5200 - what would be something I can do on that system that would make it especially appealing and at least worth checking out? I actually kinda want a Lynx, despite the system not really having much I'd be interested in. Irrational? Probably.
