No prob, Bob.CRTGAMER wrote:@ samsonlonghair - THANK YOU! Picked up a spare CIB 2 disc and 2 crisp manuals spare copy of WiiU/Wii Rodea The Sky Soldier. Confirmed as seen in other dusty new games on the shelf, Gamestop indeed has retagged all the new copies to the lower used price. The only sacrifice is no shrink wrap, busted out to become eligible as used. For me no big deal, though the OCD in me wanted that red sticker to place on the cover.
Local for a first hand inspection with no shipping charge, a great price at $12.99, if sealed $14.99!

Letting everyone know Digimon Cyber Sleuth is $10 new, lowest you'll probably find it!

I know right a niche RPG that's probably gonna be good for $10 is remarkable. Digimon games hold value too!

I mean, the reviews are pretty positive, too, and if I remember right, it's the same company that developed Wild ARMs and Chaos Rings, so they're no RPG newbies.

The company announced earlier this week that it's shutting down 2% to 3% of its stores. That means as many as 190 stores could be on the chopping block:

CEO Paul Raines on what the problem is:
"That's because the biggest names in gaming -- Playstation maker Sony and Xbox maker Microsoft haven't updated their consoles in a while. That creates a lag in business for retailers like GameStop."
Sure Paul, that's the reason for decreased GameStop shopping.

Their business model sucks in my opinion there are 7 of them within probably 30 miles of me and there are 2 pairs of them within 3 miles of each other
. They have literally put one in every shopping center and mall regardless of how close they are to another gamestop
. Amazon is also beating the shit out of them now with the 20% off preorders as well a Best Buy which was the first company to do that with their GCU program.

Hah haven't updated...right. They have, like a computer, with upgrade parts. They caught on to the fact people don't want to piss $600 on a closed up out of date computer and lose access to their games. Now it's about an upgradeable computer instead, but you have to buy the whole thing like a cheap e-PC, and it's a choice as the older still will run all the stuff anyway just a bit less non-4K nice is all.
Perhaps it has to do with their business tactics? Business model? Their shady pricing above all else on stuff. Nah, couldn't be that at all, no way. There's far too many too close to each other. I could make a circle in the area around here say of a 10mi radius and probably find 10 of them. I don't know what the running numbers are, but could there be more of them jammed into the same space than a Starbucks? At least the baristas there aren't predators, the drinks and stuff are nice, and you can feel relaxed and not stalked in the store there.
(And their 'pro' reward ie: Gold star actually really does give you freebies.)
I actually went into a couple of them in the last few days because of the Wii as I was curious about stocks and pricing. Crass, blunt, to the point -- Fuck em.
I wondered why they always had so much, and not just filler, it's because anything that's decent they're selling at a 25% mark-up over what the stuff actually values at on paid ebay or just anywhere else really, and some of them the margin was more like 33-40% more. Yes let's pay $20 for a used copy of Super Mario Galaxy, when the NEW copies are that, and yet online you can bag the game for $12 shipped complete.
I'll go back, when they have like a buy one get 2 free dumper deal on old crap, otherwise, not a chance.
