That should change. I remember hitting a brick wall at some point. (I still haven't beaten the game, I think I got to Disc 2.)
... and then I got to Undine.

I was literally JUST about to ask if you'd gotten to her yet. She's more or less where the game shows you its full hand of what it's about. SHE'S A RIGHT TOUGH MOTHER.

Realized that I have no idea how to play Othello.
Othello's pretty simple. You try to capture an unbroken line of enemy colored pieces between two of your pieces, flipping them all to be your color. And then you get massively trashed when you realized you left yourself open while trying to take enemy pieces.
Thanks for the explanation.

Wait, are you this guy?

Speaking of Tales, I just got to the part of Berseria where we have the pre-end game quiet town sequence. I did some checking and there's lots of sidequest wrapping up I can do after I finish this current sequence that unlocks the final boss, and since I actually really like these characters I'll be doing all that sidequest stuff. Which means it's now in that spot where I'd probably finish Wednesday night sometime, which is awkward for my time management with all the stuff coming out. So I'll be going with the original plan of hanging this up, doing Horizon Zero Dawn for a few days, then Zelda when that comes out. Though which of the two I do after Zelda will depend on how far I got into HZD.

Ogre Cling: Let Us Tactics Together

At 20 hours in, I just reached Chapter 4. From what I understand, Chapter 4 is the final chapter. I don't know how many battles I have left, but I'm still climbing this mountain a little higher every day.

Lots of sidequests, and the undead dungeon, and the actual real ending...

None of which I'm particularly interested in doing. I'm just going for the credits screen on this one. As nice as Tactics Ogre is, and it is nice, it's also increasingly repetitive, and I'm starting to get burnt out on the base redundancy. This is more a factor of the age and time of the game, rather than "bad game design". I'll explain what I mean when I review it.

As a side note; I don't care for game design which encourages the player to replay the entire game, or significant portions of the game, in order to see the "real ending". That's just a cheap method of artificial longevity. No thanks developers, I'll just Youtube the "real ending".

The SFC version is probably the "real man's version", or at least the historian's. But the PSP version is considerably more polished, expanded, and complex than the original. Check the list of differences:
