Backloggery n00b question.
Backloggery n00b question.
Hey guys, I just recently found out about backloggery (what a cool site) and was wondering about the terms of "completing" a game. If you were to play a 360 game, does that mean you have EVERY single achievement unlocked as well as 100% on everything else? I know no one is twisting your arm with this website so you can put whatever you please, but can you be a little lenient on yourself by giving yourself a complete rating even if you haven't say, gotten all the online achievements? Does any of this make sense? If not, I'll just retreat back to my cave...
Re: Backloggery n00b question.
I'm sure some people would argue about getting 100% on a game as far as side quests etc. But getting achievements is certainly not a part of finishing a game as far as I'm concerned.
Re: Backloggery n00b question.
See that's what I thought. 100% to me is getting everything possibly attainable in the single player-story based part of the game, not getting 20 headshots in a row on this map at this time of the day with this weapon. Know what I mean?
Re: Backloggery n00b question.
Also, when you guys started up your Backloggery, did you enter in all the games you could think of that you had beaten? Or at least gone over the games you own and know for a FACT you had at least BEATEN? Thanks guys. I'm a n00b perfectionist I guess.
Re: Backloggery n00b question.
I use the Backloggery to keep track of my collection, as I want to beat every game I own (it's a pipe dream, I know). So I use complete to mark a game as finished as far as I am concerned, even if I may not have done what others might consider to be complete. Thus, most of my games fall into complete. I usually use beaten for games such as Mario 64, where you can fight the final boss long before getting all the stars. A game where there is extra content that doesn't feel like a sidequest, if you will.

Re: Backloggery n00b question.
I just got aware of backloggery by this thread, thanks a lot, man! That site was just what I was looking for.
I just put every game I own there (and while I was at it, a ridiculously long wishlist). Concerning the term "complete", I used it as "seen everything in the game". So unless achievements or trophies grant you extra content like new levels, items or bosses (I don't know about it, since I have no current-gen systems), they shouldn't count.
Besides that, I think it is hard enough to at least beat your collection, let alone complete every game to the last bit and get all achievements.
99 mastered runs on each game, anyone?

Re: Backloggery n00b question.
It's ok, I list Master Runs for various topics. I've listed a few multiplayer only games as having Master Runs because of who I've played with and what I've managed to do in some of them over the years.

What a cool site! I just registered. It's an obsessive-compulsive's dream
It's going to take a while for me to get my entire collection up there. Often when I'm bored in lectures I try to do stuff like make lists of games I need to finish to pass the time. This site will be my definitive guide!

Re: Backloggery n00b question.
This is how they have it on the site:
Beaten
The main objective has been accomplished. Usually marked by the defeat of a final boss and/or viewing of credits.
Completed
For games which are 100% done. All extras and modes have been unlocked and finished. All significant items have been collected.
Mastered
A special rank for completed games in which a difficult, user-defined challenge or speed run has been successfully finished.
Well I just finished COD2 and consider its completed. All extras and modes? Don't have time for that, once is enough usually only come back to play a game again after years have gone by! So I'll probably put beaten on everything else like a shmup or rpg.

See, I was thinking about that too. What about games that don't really have an end, or final point? Sports games?
