How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?

Final Fantasy IX is the best one

If you want to be invincible, when you get the summons only equip Odin (or maybe it was Ragnarok) before everyone levels up to permanently increase your Speed stat per level up. Slap Running Shoes on everyone. Have everyone learn all magic. God Mode activated.
But next time I play FF6 I'm going to be very restrictive on who learns magic or can use summons.

That's definitely one way to do it. Get crazy speed, and rush towards learning Ultima and everyone gets cooked.
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
Ultima's a waste of mana. Magic damage scales relative to the square of your magic power, while physical damage scales relative to your vigor. So cranking magic damage up lets you damage cap with level 2 spells if you hit weakness, level 3 spells otherwise. The main place to use Ultima is against element immune enemies with reflect up, since it pierces.
Another pro-tip. If you're playing the SNES version (and I think the PS1 version) then evade is bugged to do nothing. This means the darkness status also does nothing except prevent Strago from learning Lores. Instead, magic evade is used for every evasion check, physical and magic. The cap is 128% (which makes you evade everything).

My RetroDuo sits largely unused. I even have a EverDrive for it; I don't regret buying it, but I do think I could use it more often.

Unless you're rolling with the Economizer/Gem Box combo, in which case fire at will.MrPopo wrote:Ultima's a waste of mana.
Re: How Is Your SNES Gaming Going?
I think that's kind of what I did. I only ever bothered to finish FF3 SNES once.
I remember later in the game I went after a few hours of cacotaurs in that area they pop up consistently. I ranked up my teams with a lot of the magics, but really focused on Ultima and some restoratives too. In the end the game was a push over as I just rolled up that entire last part, boss run Kefka and all and just vaporized the mess of them with that spell being spammed while healers kept people alive. A few didn't use it who could arm some other seriously wicked gear/weapon combos.

A violence craving, no nosed, vampiric elf called Ackman, running around carrying a gun AND a sword, being chased by an angry angel creature and a little red demon?
The only think that could make it more perfect were if one of them were flipping us off.
