so my tiki team is almost entirely max level. When you get a character to 40, they have a unique conversation with you. The team consists of Tiki (dragon girl), Tharja (sexy mage), Effie (Tank Girl) and Gunter (Old Horse Axe)

My second team is at level 30 and is comprised of Hawkeye (Shirtless Feather guy), Felicia (ninja maid), Hana (samurai girl) and Cecilia (horse mage).

So, I did another full summoning and pulled my first two 5-star characters. They aren't SS-tier, but they don't suck.

I have noticed a blue aura around some of my character icons in my team selection menu. They have a level +1 with them. I got that by combining them with other heroes. Is this a way to get them to be higher than 40?

I think you only get a plus by combining same-level heroes.

Sometimes that happens and sometimes it doesnt. I think it is from combining a hero more than once. That plus doesn't go away when you level up either.

I've only combined same level heroes twice. It was the same 4* heroes, I had ended up with 3 of them, and now I have a level 20+2.

So they have to be the same hero or the same level? If same level. I may hold off leveling some teams.

Same hero of the same star value, sorry, not level. I had 3 identical 4* characters, and I merged the two lower level ones into my highest-level one.

Can confirm. I did the same thing to two 3-star heroes and he's the only one with a blue aura around him and +1 next to his level. Combining a lower star character to a higher star character of the same type doesn't seem to do the same thing.
