I've driven in Atlanta many times, it can be pretty annoying if you're in a hurry, but for the most part people don't drive too batshit crazy. Now you guys oughta try driving around in Miami or Tallahassee sometime. Florida drivers are bonkers.

Sadly, it only has a short, scenic loop. No real useful rail transportation. But not a lot of need for it, either.

The Bush administration time and time again failed to offer evidence of any useful intelligence garnered through torture, and intelligence experts testified on numerous occasions that torture does not get useful intel out of people. When you use torture, people tell you what they think you want to hear, not what is true. The best way to get truth is to find ways to lower their guard, get inside their trusted space somehow. Torture doesn't accomplish that. That's one of the reasons the Obama administration got rid of torture. It's why McCain opposes torture. He was a POW, you recall. I can only imagine what he went through, but I'm sure he's seen his share of hell in the past and knows that all torture and mistreatment accomplished is bad information, false leads, and more enemies.

Thinking torture generates useful intelligence comes from watching too many movies, but it has no basis in reality.

Yeah, gonna need an actual reliable source of information on that or I don't buy it. The site you quoted is NOT by any definition a reliable information source. At all. I would advise you not to get your information there, or you may find yourself believing a lot of stuff that is patently, provably false.
You are probably right. It is a profound statement if true. Look at it as an editorial focus on the open border policy protesters in the states are pushing. Do you think Merkel was wrong in the open border policy, a result was the attack in Germany?

@ SpaceBooger - I replied to your thoughts and updated my Education post.
Are you willing to waterboard domestic terrorists standing up for what they feel are their white Christian values?
It is not a question of what religion is important, perception of the "accepted norm" or what each of us believe in. Not all conservatives are Christians as the left assumes. A religious belief does not correlate with all views to a given left or right side opinion, ridiculous to categorize as such.

To answer your query, to prevent any killing of innocents, yes.

Traffic isn't scary...I live in detroit where potholes are living breathing undulating death traps that await you on every expressway

An interesting interview, certainly.
It is. Especially this bit in the written summary, near the end.
Rodriguez maintains he got information from the interrogations of KSM and others that enabled the CIA to disrupt at least 10 large-scale terrorist plots. But when Stahl reminds him the CIA's own inspector general said that his enhanced interrogation program did not stop any imminent attack, Rodriguez says, "We don't know. ...if, for example, al Qaeda would have been able to continue on with their anthrax program or nuclear program...or sleeper agents ...working with Khalid Sheik Mohammed to take down the Brooklyn Bridge, for example."

Stahl then suggests that KSM was never really broken, because he never gave up Osama bin Laden. "There is a limit...to what they will tell us," replies Rodriguez.
Rodriguez may be "convinced" torture helped save lives, but the way he says that suggests he doesn't know it saved lives. We should not sacrifice our ideals and violate international law because a former official is "convinced" of something he cannot factually elucidate.

I could not see the video on the site, here are the direct YouTube videos in two parts.

Based on the text, I agree with Jose Rodriguez. Interesting take on capture to question vs killing. Ethical vs saving even the terrorists lives? Heading out the door, will watch the videos later.
