Contra Games with No Overhead Levels

Post by RemyC »

I love contra games, but I don't like the overhead levels featured in most of them.
Could I please get a list of the games that do not have any overhead levels?

Contra - Side scrolling and 3D behind the player
Super C - Side scrolling and overhead
Contra III - Side scrolling and overhead
Contra 4 - Side scrolling and 3D behind the player

I only own the four core games, so I don't know how the others are.

The Contra game for the GBA combines side-scrolling levels from Contra III with side-scrolling levels from Contra: Hard Corps and has no overhead levels whatsoever.

Thanks for the input guys.
Shattered Soldier is one that I've been looking into for awhile.
The one on the GBA seems promising, but I don't own any handhelds.

Would that be a whacky homebrew that you cooked up?

Contra: Hard Corps on Genesis/Megadrive is a great, and has no overhead levels.

Much better than the GBA Contra.
