I just wanna take a second to give a big THANK YOU to all the people here who watch this stuff and give feedback. I just spent the past several minutes reading over super old posts in this thread. I just came across Ack asking for a vid about MMPR Fighting Edition, ye gods that seems like 100 years ago. All you folks are good people, don't let anybody ever tell you differently. Thank you for your feedback over the past few years and thank you for watching.

Thanks for the content brahh.

I think it would be cool if could somehow combine a bunch of videos for some binge watching, or like via season for big collective videos. Think I talked about that pages ago wondering if there was a good way to string playlists together to binge watch them haha.

I don't know if this counts, but it's all 289 review/list videos I've done so far

Cool vid.

Have you played a lot of TG16/PCE stuff? Tons of RPGs there, many similar to what you'd find on SNES (and Super Famicom). There are even some games that were released on both systems, or series that begin on one console and continue/conclude of another: Tenshi no Uta, Emerald Dragon, Dragon Knight, Burai, Dragon Slayer, Dungeon Explorer, Ys, Xak, Brandish, and Cyber Knight come to mind.

No I haven't played much TG16, I've been wanting to do a "TG16 games SNES and Genesis owners missed out on" kind of a thing for a while. I'll make sure to start with Ys :o

Hey, it's been fun for us too. You keep making videos, and I'll keep throwing out weird suggestions.

Awesome video! And I'm glad this is only part 1, I can't wait to see more!

Some of my thoughts...

RHDN doesn't have everything, but it seems like the most centralized place for ROM hacks. Not only hacks, but translation patches, how-to guides, tons of utilities, and the forums. It's always my first stop when I'm looking for something, and it's usually my only stop. I'm glad you mentioned it in your video as being the best resource.

I use an add-on for my browser called Speed Dial, it turns your homepage into a set thumbnails of your favorite websites. One of my thumbnails is RHDN. The homepage for RHDN is frequently updated with new submissions, so I check it anytime I notice it changes on my thumbnail. Anytime I see something noteworthy, I post it in this thread: http://www.racketboy.com/forum/viewtopi ... 12&start=0

Unfortunately, I don't have the time to thoroughly check EVERY cool new hack I come across, but for the ones that I do I try and post back if there's any issues playing on a flash cart.

SWM hacks: Lunar Magic. There is a shit ton of SMW hacks out there, and this is the reason why. Lunar Magic is a level editor for SMW, and it's fairly easy to learn.

Speaking of level editors, there's quite a few in existence for various games. It means that ANYONE can make their own ROM hack, without needing any hacking knowledge.

LoZ Link to the Past hacks:

Parallel Worlds - This has got to be the most famous hack of this game, and possibly infamous. For those that find Parallel Worlds too hard, there's a patch that sorta tames it: http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/956/

MSU-1 patch - This patch adds CD quality audio as well as FMV cut scenes. This is pretty much what we would have got if Nintendo went ahead with the CD add-on for the SNES and gave us a CD version of LttP. For this reason, it's at least worth checking out on YouTube. And for those that don't know, the MSU-1 is a new enhancement chip for the SNES, created by byuu, that allows the SNES to stream audio and FMV. It's currently only supported by bsnes/higan and the Sd2snes flash cart.

BS The Legend of Zelda - Official ROM hacks for the Satellaview. Unfortunately, this was a Japan only add-on and games were only playable during their broadcast. But luckily for us, ROM hackers have made a lot of the games playable. The BS LoZ games are definitely worth checking out. I played through Ancient Stone Tablets some years back and it was great!

I don't know if you're looking for suggestions for future hack videos, but if you are I can most definitely give you some.

Thanks as always Ziggy, the MSU-1 patch will definitely be talked about a bit in part 2. I should also probably talk about HOW these hacks are made too, so I appreciate sharing the knowledge there. I might even make my own crappy Mario hack someday

Other stuff I'll be including in part 2: Mario Kart R, Final Fantasy 6 Eternal Crystals, Ken Griffey Jr Presents MLB (with 2016 rosters), NBA Jam TE (with 2016 rosters), and a couple others I have written down at home that I can't remember off the top of my head. Any other suggestions are welcome, my only qualifier is that they can't be insanely difficult to play. The more inclusive the better
