It'd look better just playing it through a decent TV. I set mine up for streaming the other day when you were having connection issues (worked fine off the bat for me).

The ones that it gave you were for Xbox One, right?

As Phades pointed out, the policy between Xbox 360 and Xbox One games is different. Xbox 360 Games With Gold are yours to keep, where Xbox One titles mirror the way that Playstation Plus works: you only have access to them while your subscription is active.

In turn, the policy also differs between the two with regard to shorter trial periods. Melek-Ric is on the money with regard to Xbox 360 titles. Getting those requires a 30 day trial (or better). Xbox One games, on the other hand, are granted by the 14 day one.

Per the Games with Gold FAQ :
What kind of Xbox Live Gold trials are eligible?

All Xbox Live trials on Xbox One are eligible for every benefit of Xbox Live Gold, including Games with Gold. On Xbox 360, you’re only eligible if you're on an Xbox Live Gold one-month free trial.

If you're on a 14-day prepaid code trial, you're not eligible. You must have a current Xbox Live Gold subscription or trial that requires a credit card.

If you get into any of the GoW games give me a heads up I still want to run through those co-op sometime. Beat the first one(want to play through the remaster though) but I haven't gotten to far in any of the others :P.

I'm sure this is true, though none of the TV's in my house are nearly as nice as my gaming monitor. I actually have done a side by side (like literally, TV right next to monitor) running an Xbox One game. My TV is a ...um, upper 30-inch or lower 40-inch 1080p, and my monitor is a 27" 1440p. I'm not sure it looks better/worse on the monitor.

But it looks great, and I'm just way more comfortable gaming sitting in front of a monitor versus gaming sitting on the couch on the other side of the room from the TV. Definitely just a comfort thing after years of doing it that way. (Like going back to 2009-ish as I used to even hook up consoles to my monitor rather than hog the TV in our old apartment).

Ah! Well that makes sense. Case closed!

GoW = Gears Of War, yeah? I really know nothing about them. I'm not very fond of third person shooters. Although I might be getting the Xbox One version of the first game as there's a physical release of Rare Replay that is doubled-up with it and goes for the same price as the standalone RR.

That one was bundled for holiday 2015, so yeah, lot of copies of it around (I got it with mine). If you do buy it, the discs themselves are just the standard discs for the games. It still included GoW stickers and such, so I think literally it's just the combo cover art and single case that sets it apart from buying both separately. Certainly worth grabbing over "just" Rare Replay.

If you're looking for games to grab, Sunset Overdrive is very cheap now (usually sub $10), and is still a true exclusive to the console, far as I know.

Ah, I can do either, but given that I live by myself, using my living room setup is often nicer if it's a genre I like using a gamepad for.

I kind of forgot about that one. I remember when it came out I thought it looked really nice (visually).

I've been slowly building a list of One and 360 games to keep an eye out for, however I'm not in a rush to build a big collection either. I have grown accustomed to just buying a game when I'm really ready to play it on PC, so would like to keep it up.

Yeah at this point I've spent so many years equating gaming w/ sitting at a desk that if I'm more than a few feet away from the screen then it feels really off to me for gaming.

Interesting. Personally I'll take sitting on my sofa playing games on a TV over sitting at a desk playing games on a monitor any day.

On the other hand, I'll take laying on my sofa playing games on a handheld over sitting on a sofa playing games on a TV any day too.

gaming on the couch for me means I'm looking at a tablet. Like I said, it's just a comfort thing from years of gaming this way. If the only time you ever gamed over the course of 8 years was standing up, it'd probably feel strange to then try gaming sitting down. Or maybe it's just me. Shrug.

so apparently I have Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege in my "ready to install" list. Says I purchased it on 1/28, which is the day I got the console. Maybe it was part of that Free With Gold promotion and I forgot. Hmm. Weird.

Anyway, I'm absolutely loving Madden 17. Considering the last Madden I played was 08, there's a considerable jump in, well, everything here. It's pretty amazing.

It may be a "free weekend" game. Those happen from time to time.
