I have a good question...

Dang.
Metroid is the top priority and there's apparently not a lot of fans of the DKCR series here, but I wouldn't mind if Retro got to do one more DKCR to finish off their own trilogy.
I've always seen Retro as the new Rare for Nintendo, but I guess two gens in with them it's easy to tell their studio is probably not the same size as Rare was back in the day, since their output of games seems way smaller. Well that or it's also just the state of larger development thesedays, who knows.
Excited to see what they do next, whenever that is.

It's probably a bit of both and if they had been working on a WiiU game there's no reason to think they still aren't, just not on the WiiU but the Switch. Something on their level considering the Nintendo loyalty to the brand maybe best served not as something to shovel up at launch but even just months later at E3. They tend to pop up the two franchises Japan cares less for (DK and Metroid) but a US based or even European show would make sense.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
The Wii U game was supposed to be somewhat of a big deal, wasn't it? Nothing was known, but I'm sure they were bigging it up as an example of 'just what the Wii U is capable of', claiming it would show off the graphical capabilities of the system like no other game.
That may be just me making it up inside my head and my memories getting distorted through time though

As I was reading many pages of this thread to catch-up on the discussion I couldn't help but think about this older video, especially the end:
Leo Takes A Look: The Next Generation Of Boxes
This would have been funnier to post some pages back, but still funny when thinking about the whole "Switch" discussion.

Haven't a lot of Retro games not come to fruition? Was it them or Rare that was coming up with some kind of dragon game maybe back on the Gamecube or Wii? I have no idea. I just think both were cooking up some new IP's for Nintendo that never saw the light of day.

I LOVE DKCR. I've love to see a third game on Switch. I'd also love to see a Metroid game where Samus is on vacation, sunbathing in a skimpy bikini at the beach, when suddenly a hoard of space pirates attack the resort!
