I think you've kinda got it already, stick. Folks are surprised by the Falcons for the same reason people were surprised by the Panthers last year—no media hype until later in the season.

I posted earlier on the San Diego Chargers moving to Los Angeles causing a protest with a souvenir burning locally. Teased if the Raiders (were rival LA team) who moved to Oakland might be our new team which would really start a riot locally. Saw on the news last week the Raiders are in talks to move to Las Vegas!

Personally, I think the city local colleges should be adopted more instead of now the high dollar private NFL teams that keep shifting cities. At least the local college teams stay put.

Oh shit, if the Raiders move to Vegas, somebody's going to die.

It's because of the Falcons' performance in previous years. Look at 2015: best start we'd had since 2012 by going 5-0, and then we just lost it. 2016, we started off with a loss to the Buccaneers and then won the next 4 games before losing 2 more. Fans here started to worry that we'd be getting back to what happened in 2015. Thankfully it didn't end up going that way, and we pulled off what has become a great season.

Watching the Super Bowl. As much as I want the Falcons to win, Tom Brady's ability to throw a pass is truly a beautiful thing.

This is true. Though it is a bittersweet thing to read at halftime tonight.

Well, the Pats have certainly made up for it in the second half.

Good grief, Atlanta. Are you seriously going to blow this one?

EDIT: Yes. Yes they are.

You could tell atlanta was done and had no answers way before overtime. I hate to see them choke the game like that.
