SMB is hard!

I just got a copy of Deluxe for GBC. I guess I forgot how hard SMB1 is. Jeez. Now that I think about it, it's probably the only Mario sidescroller I never beat.

World is a bit easier than SMB. Also, Deluxe cropped a lot due to the GBC's low resolution, which made the game a bit harder.

Hm . Ive always felt World was hard and the original was fairly easy. Maybe I just have more experience with the original SMB than World. Again my memory of the GBC version is vague but I gather the low resolution absolutely makes the game harder.

I think I SMB deluxe was the game I played most on the GB/GBC. Tons of unlockables including Lost Levels? Great stuff.

World is totally easier than 1 for sure. I can just about go through world with my eyes closed.

I found the GBC SMB very easy actually. In fact, the lost levels is easier there than in any other version. For example, they removed the wind. (Although the koopa jumping in world 8 is an effing nightmare)

yikes they took out the wind?! that alone makes it a lot easier. do so many people really find smb 1 to be hard? even skipping the warps doesnt make it that bad. super mario world is more of a challenge... its more involved and i think the levels are definitely more complex.

Agreed, personally, I find World to be my favorite Mario title, with Deluxe's version of the lost levels as a second. It made it easier, while still fairly difficult.

Good point. That cropping is a bigger deal than some might think.
