Some RPG's, I am glad to own, and some I resort to emulation and flash drives.
Wizardry games are definitely a series that I plan to play on actual carts though. I can't imagine the number of write cycles that Wizardry would put on SD cards/everdrives.

Got the 1st three on Famicom for such occasions, and Wiz V for SNES of course.
There's also Llylgamyn Saga for my Saturn, so should be fine using battery backup.

I have a similar opinion on Translated Fire Emblems, but I think I'll bite sometime, either on a separate SD card or on a system with Hard Drive saves.
I might be a tad paranoid about read/write wear.

I have enough to keep me busy regardless.
Still haven't gotten back to the SNES catalog though. I was supposed to play Lufia and Secret of Mana last year and totally got sidetracked.
...just another lost soul...

I own most of the NTSC-U RPGs at this point. There are just a few more to collect, and honestly they're not really that expensive when compared to some of the biggest names.

All I need to collect at this point are these:

Dragon View
Dungeon Master
King Arthur & the Knights of Justice
Lord of the Rings, Vol. 1
Paladin's Quest
Ultima VI
Ultima VII

As for what I have left to beat, it includes all of these and a few others, but it's not an impossible amount. I just try to knock out three or four each year and slowly make progress.

Have you beaten the first ones already? Or are you just playing V? I'm curious because I was thinking about playing the first one. :D

Well V is the only one that came to the West on SNES, so that's probably why he's starting with that one if he hasn't seen the earlier ones. That said 1-3 & 5 don't really advance the formula between the entries, so it's not a bad starting point.

Also GOG lacks them, which is a small stumbling block for me. I prefer to pick them up that way if at all possible so I can support GOG.

I wouldn't hold your breath on that one; I've done some digging and the Wizardry 1-5 rights are in a bad state; specifically one of the claimed rights holders hasn't been paid so anyone trying to pick those up would pick up that part as well.

Yeah, I know. I'm still holding out hope just because of all the stuff that has been wrangled over the years for the site, but I have plenty to play in the meantime.

This year? Ultima III for sure.

On the console front, I'm debating between a few titles for my next attempt: Ultima: Runes of Virtue 2, Inindo, Super Ninja Boy, or do I go track down one of the missing ones like Paladin's Quest or Lord of the Rings, Vol. 1 and give it a go first?

Yeah, but do I want to finish all the good ones and leave myself with just bottom of the barrel scraps to finish on? Because if it gets down to the likes of Obitus and Dungeon Explorer's SNES port...yeah.
