Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I mean, really though, why would 2K18 launch only 2 months through 2017 considering that the system launches in the VERY beginning of March?

Yeah, hence why I asked if it was a re-skinned version of 2K17 with a few minor updates/tweaks.ElkinFencer10 wrote:I mean, really though, why would 2K18 launch only 2 months through 2017 considering that the system launches in the VERY beginning of March?
It turns out though that it's just the media are idiots. I looked up the stories and read them. They even quoted the tweet that said it's coming out September. They just misinterpreted the tweet and ran a story saying it's coming out at launch and the rest of the media followed like sheep. Bloody mainstream media. It's quite entertaining to see it's the mainstream media and politicians banging on about "fake news", directing their anger at independent blogs etc... but I digress. That's another topic of conversation.

The console release date for Tekken 7 will be revealed next week. Given the timing of the announcement, there is a good chance that a Switch port is coming. It would be pretty great if it were a March release date.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
My body has ascended to a new plain of ready. I am beyond hyped for the switch. I actually already have the switch preordered and paid off. And I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who sees Bomberman as one of the biggest reasons to be excited. I know it's by Konami and all, but I view this as the tiniest baby step towards them not being the actual worst game company to exist.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I mean at some level I get it, hell I feel it being burned by WiiU. But I am getting already fed up with people writing stories and being so staunch now that the Switch is Nintendo screwing up again and that it already is shaping up to be a bigger failure than the WiiU. A bunch of armchair losers with an agenda is how they come off. You get rotten media spin how there's no support, yet day by day more major developers pop up with some new good nugget of info and support.
I don't trust them but to sit there and deny the reality of the picture forming up is insulting. Sure it is only a start, and yes it's possible yet you could see the third parties pull a Gamecube and ignore them 3 years into a 5 year life span too, but that's a big IF and none of us have a crystal ball. This isn't just another underpowered Wii console. They stupidly bill it as a console you can carry when it really is a handheld with a dock. Looking at it from the scope of say the Sony Vita/PS TV level or Shield Console/Tablet level it's a beast in its specific realm. It's enough of a beast people are willingly converting PS4 and PC level games such as RIME that comes out this year. I know RIME perhaps isn't a beast of a game but the fact you don't hear whining from the developer and they converted it, I think it speaks volumes of some level of real potential that's being overlooked.

Re: Switch Discussion Thread
In a funny way this has gotten me more excited for the Wii U right now, because now there's basically a stopping point for the library and I can't wait to build up my collection of it more. Easier to manage when an end is actually in sight. I think that will be a big focus of this year for me.
Re: Switch Discussion Thread
I think the Switch hardware is fundamentally sound and it will make a great portable. It's biggest problems are related to Nintendo's inability to not pack as many different control mechanisms in as possible, raising hardware costs for control features a great many will rarely use (see XBone Kinect), and that Nintendo is so afraid of undercutting the 3ds that they are putting way too much focus on the system as a Wii-like TV console (the system's weakest aspect) and under-selling the system as potentially the greatest mobile console ever created.
They need the 3ds money pretty badly right now, but they risk failing to effectively market the Switch and thus sacrificing future profits and market health in favor of short-term gains. It doesn't help that all those motion control geegaws and whatnot have made the price potentially challenging for families that may want more than one portable device.

My body is the readiest it has ever been. I am so ready that I am afraid I'll come full circle back to unready again.DannyMcGee wrote:My body has ascended to a new plain of ready.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?
Re: Switch Discussion Thread

IF they were smart they would port a version of this to switch. Honestly I'm more excited for this and DQVIII on the 3DS than anything releasing in the near future exclusively for the switch.
