Same. But I'm always female when given the choice.noiseredux wrote:I don't play games "evil." I don't enjoy being the bad guy in a game.

Re: RPG Progress Report
in fantasy style games I always make a female because I basically always make the same character now - a tradition carried over from DAO. In my head I'm treating Dragon Age and Pillars Of Eternity and Skyrim and whatever else as just different campaigns to one big RPG.
In ME I just rolled w/ regular old Shep because... I don't know. I don't really care. And I feel like that game is way more story based and I didn't even know about Fem-Shep before I started the game so I just shrugged and kind of left everything default and didn't tweak the character at all.
By my best guess, I don't really care for the ME series. I just keep trying to make sure I'm not wrong, because everything tells me that I SHOULD like it. Shrug.

Re: RPG Progress Report
actually I apparently made a Fem-Shep back when I attempted ME2. I had forgotten, but just re-read what I wrote about ME2. Hmm.
Anyway, this paragraph seems to sum up how I'm still feeling about ME1:

But let me jump back in time for a minute. A while back I played Dragon Age Origins. I think I did so just because I had gotten it free and figured "why not?" And man, I loved that game. Here's the funny thing – as a nerd I tend to sway closer to sci-fi than fantasy. I can appreciate both, but I'm more of a Star Wars Guy than a Lord Of The Rings Guy, y'know? So with that in mind I figured that if I loved Dragon Age, I'd super love Mass Effect. It was Bioware's sci-fi series. I hoped it would be Dragon Age In Space. It wasn't though. For lots of reasons. But mostly the combat turned me off. Dragon Age felt like it could be forced into a sort of Infinity Engine feeling if you tweaked it just right. Mass Effect felt too action-y for me. Not enough RPG. So I gave up on it quickly.

Note, I also played Mass Effect as a soldier, so my tactics all included "run up and shoot it in the face while being evil."
