Re: RPG Progress Report
picked up my Mass Effect save and... ugh. Just as I remembered it. Lots of walking around the Citadel, trying to figure out where I'm supposed to go for the next quest. Lots of looking at the map. And lots of riding in elevators.

Re: RPG Progress Report
Not really joking though. Can you name a character from Skyrim or a good plot arc?

Re: RPG Progress Report
not really... but characters and plot arcs aren't what I love about it. From my short-ish time with Witcher 3, I know that that has a better story and more developed characters. But it bored me personally. In Skyrim I'm all about just exploring that world. I'm happy to play for hours without much happening. Just the atmosphere of it all. Can't really explain it. I just really enjoy being in that game. To each his own, y'know?Xeogred wrote:Not really joking though. Can you name a character from Skyrim or a good plot arc?
Re: RPG Progress Report
I guess I just like to treat Skyrim as my punching bag.
But I guess here's the truth in numbers...
I think I've put a total of 150 hours into Skyrim. 120 on the 360 over two years (took breaks and casually played it until I beat it eventually). Then played another 30 with a new character on the PC.
I stopped about 30 hours into Witcher 3. And it's probably because of the gameplay. Combat/monsters/dungeons were kind of boring.
Skyrim has excellent atmosphere, Jeremy Soule music, and all the dungeons are great, along with fun combat to me. The RPG elements and leveling isn't perfect. I find the writing, characters, and plot to be dreadful though. Same with Bethesda's Fallout, even if I have a bias for sci-fi. But the gameplay is fun in their stuff, it just can't keep me interested forever. Hence why I like New Vegas way more than the Bethesda stuff, love Obsidian's writing.
Give me Witcher 3 plot/characters with Skyrim gameplay! lol
Oh but back on point... yeah I like Mass Effect WAY more than Skyrim.
It sounds like you've barely even started if you're at the Citadel. It will pickup after that. Hope you like it.

That was a fair post.
I have tried ME before and gave up early. Same with ME2. They dont seem to grab me very early on. We will see...

You haven't lived until you've played a brutally evil FemShep.

Have you guys played both ways or not? I would imagine for a lot of people your first choice is your only choice. I just can't get into a full FemShep run. And I'm even a huge Jennifer Hale fan. It just doesn't seem right haha... but I bet if I picked her first that's how the whole series would have been in my mind instead.
