This guy already made a comparison video on BOTW Wii U vs Switch. Clearly the Switch version is running much better textures/shaders and has a better draw distance. If you like playing the absolute prettiest version of a game the Switch is probably worth it.

This guy that is at the Treehouse claims a Nintendo rep told him BOTW will run at 900p when docked and 720 when portable.

While I am sure the hardware is capable of running at 1080 or even 4k, we will never see anything other than smaller eshop titles running at said res. Especially if Nintendos own flagship franchise launch title does not do so. Which is fine, I'm only a little bit of a graphics whore.

I guess where I stand at this point is I went from OMFG I LOVE THE SWITCH, AND I MUST HAVE IT DAY ONE! to "huh? maybe I dont need this day one..."

The presentation was one of the more underwhelming things I have seen. I just dont feel like they are giving me personally a reason to pick one up at launch. I will probably buy one a year or so down the road, just like I did with the U, once they have some games, as Wii U remasters and yet another version of SFII are not system sellers in my eyes.

As for you collector types, yeah you should preorder this. I imagine this will be a very similar story to a lot of other recent Nintendo products. I myself am still looking for that damn mini NES.....

I think what I really love about the Switch is the JoyCons. I think I just really want Nvidia to make something similar.

I preordered the Switch, red and blue joycons, with Zelda SE and Zelda Wii U. Whether I'll get them or not is a different question.

I was following along in here last night some, and I thought I saw someone call it a JogCon. Was confused.

The most irritating thing right now is you can pre-order, but literally everywhere has the disclaimer of "We have not yet received our allocation from Nintendo regarding these units, so we are not guaranteeing release date delivery until this is known" (except Amazon, who pulled it/"sold out" within hours) :?

I really hope Nintendo doesn't pull a NES Classic with these... I stupidly cancelled my pre-order from months ago to pre-order the blue and red version, thus pushing me to the back of the queue and not realising the above disclaimer :(

That was me. Still my favorite playstation controller...

Went by my Gamestop and the guy had three preorders left with a line of two people. So I ordered console, Zelda, Mario, PuyoxTetris, and Bomberman in full. Mario Kart is not in the system yet. Now to cancel the online one.

Welp, too late anyway, Best Buy is out. I've got GCU there, so that's where I'd likely purchase. Might be better to get from Walmart, though, easier to return if I have problems.

That sounds kind of grimy.

You're telling me. Especially as Amazon apparently "sold out" within a couple of hours. Other sites don't seem to be "selling out", they seem to be allowing infinite pre-orders and will just distribute them on a first come, first serve basis.
