Well thats good to know. I worked at a Software ETC in the 90s and early 2000s (technically a Gamestop) and that was not the case then.

I worked at Software Etc around 2000 as well, and it was the case there with PS2 and GBA preorders. So maybe there was selective enforcement.

Probably. I pre-ordered the Gamecube at my store and got the fifth one in the shipment. Then again we got fifty or sixty Gamecubes. The bigger issue was the four (4) extra controllers we got...

So I'd say there is very very good chance preorders from most retailers will be available shortly after tonight's presentation.

I'll be staying up late for the presentation because I am pretty hype for this. This will be the first console I have preordered at launch since the original Xbox.

My hype is off the charts. I'll probably be taking a nap as soon as I get home so I can stay up for the whole presentation (am old man in sleeping habits; does not usually stay up late). Tomorrow's gonna suck running on relatively little sleep, but it's totally worth it.
