Hello, Front Mission 3.

Seriously though, I quit Final Fantasy X-2 entirely after discovering that I missed out on .01% of the game because I went to one end of a road first instead of going to the other end to chat with one NPC about what was going on at the first end. I will never play that game again.

At least Front Mission 3 has the decency to give you two very different campaigns.

Truth. And specifically points you to the moment where you're making the decision with a big "THIS IS A BIG DECISION" sort of moment.

Go to GameFAQs. Print a big ass list of all the 8 and 16-bit RPGs. Hang it on a wall. Close your eyes and throw a dart at it. You're guaranteed to hit a game better than Final Fantasy X-2.

I beat Chrono Trigger last night. 18 hours at the final save, that's with all side quests completed. Love how fast-paced this game is. The ending gives me chills. Phenomenal. Not doing the New Game+ this time around, as I have done it 10000 times in the past. I'd like to move on to something else instead (Radical Dreamers!).

If you want something more like Dragon Age Origins you'd probably have to go backwards - Neverwinter Nights 2 is fairly similar in terms of mechanics. Even the subsequent Dragon Age games change things a bit.

Mass Effect, on the other hand, is generally more consistent. It gets more streamlined, especially from the first game, but it's generally still the same.

I kind of suspect that Andromeda is going to wind up being Inquisition in space though.
That worries me greatly... Inquisition was fun while it lasted, but it left absolutely no mark at all for me. I completely forgot about it and no character, level, music, or plot arc really stands out. And it seems like Andromeda is going for the slightly more open world design as well and is maybe less guided. I have no idea what to expect.

Out of Cosmo Canyon, Gi Nattak went down in three rounds, on to Nibel.

Decided to skip getting Yuffie. I am using Aeris until I get Cid, then Cid and Tifa will be my party.

Doesn't Yuffie get forced into your party during the Junon sequence where the party gets captured? If you haven't recruited her are you just forced to use one less character there, or does someone take her place?

I feel similarly, though I certainly recall some of the main plot arcs and such for it, at least to the same degree as I do the previous Dragon Age games. The potential issue is really all the rest of it - it's not bad, but it just pads it out so much. Not exactly unique to that though, since the Witcher games are similar, Xenoblade, etc. Where to me it was just more like an MMO.

I could be way off on it. It's just using the same engine, and the structure of Inquisition seems like it'd be suited for what I've seen of the narrative - going in, establishing power, etc.

My understanding is that both Yuffie and Vincent are optional. In that you can beat the game without them, but you obviously wont be able to 100% it. I know I have skipped her in the past and beat the trials at Wutai.
