I only played Cytus out of these ones, and it seems very good. Probably need to pay to really enjoy it, as the free version has sufficiently intrusive ads and wait timers before each attempt at a song.prfsnl_gmr wrote:Cytus? Deemo? Groove Coaster? Will try the others soon.

I now tried Groove Coaster 2 and it is awesome so far - this is the kind of game I was looking for (the 2nd one is available free on Android, the 1st looks like it is iOS exclusive).

SNK's Rhythm of Fighters was pretty fun, if you like SNK tunes and KOF, but I don't remember if it's still available or not.

Is Groove Coaster 2 really free? Lots of stuff says free, then you either get 10% of the game, or you get highly aggravating obtrusive ad videos popping up every other screen.
Cytus supposedly due to some million paid download program ended up being free for the main game on Android (ios? after $2 buy in) but then more is I guess IAP if you want it.
That SNK one, I looked, delisted in 2015. Ever since bagging that NG cab last spring I've been big into that brand again. iOS is a wash, but thankfully Android isn't some tighted up control nazi setup so you can side load APKs. I'll look for it now.

Nice. Of those, Groove Coaster is the only one I own, but I have read good things about the others. Keep an eye out for Lost in Harmony. It goes on sale (for free) with some frequency. (The last time it was on sale, I didn't realize that was actually a good game, and I still need to pick it up.)Ivo wrote:I now tried Groove Coaster 2 and it is awesome so far - this is the kind of game I was looking for (the 2nd one is available free on Android, the 1st looks like it is iOS exclusive).
Also...I almost always pay for mobile games, and I tend to avoid games with IAP. I guess that I am just old-fashioned, but games with "hidden" costs just rub me the wrong way.

hey so Sim City is surprisingly good. I worked on building Noise Ridge until my tablet's battery died last night.

You talking about that newest one EA put out that's supposedly free? I was curious at one point but was wondering what their idea of 'free' is as it's EA there has to be some kind of cash milking punishment to it.

oh the usual stuff. When you first start you can put down 3 houses, and then have to wait X seconds for more to be available. Then after using those you have to wait X more minutes for more to be available. And it's like that for all resources. Or pay $ to unlock faster. If you're patient there always seems to be stuff to do so that it doesn't matter that you're waiting on other stuff. It does seem like a very impressive and full-featured mobile take on the genre.

Ahh that model, but less punishing, that's cool.
You know, it's sad but I wish that build someone was working on of Micropolis for Android had taken off and been made working. That's the original source build for Sim City Classic which got made public domain for those cheap computers from years ago (OLPC?)
