Not a coder here, but I do read stuff on sites that would cover such stuff. Nintendo themselves were bragging awhile back that their code setup was so easy you could just pick up a game from the Android environment or PC, switch a few things as you said, and it would run. Given it's no PS4 or Pro I would not imagine people would take a game made for that and port it, but games made around the Android environment, definitely. Too much loss and added work dumbing down a new consoles titles to the Switch wouldn't be in there interests if at all really possible.fastbilly1 wrote:So all those news writers who keep saying that it will take months to build a Switch version of games, if they come at all, are just talking out their ass?
Basically if it wasn't blowing smoke you could take an Android game that's done or being done and tell UE4, do THIS, and it'll just make it functional. Then it's up to the programmers to do the leftover bits of code cleanup, optimization and specifics. General assets for audio and visual should carry right on over. Maybe I can find the old story I read but it was awhile back.
