Wii - New Play Control Series

Post by Cassidy »

Enjoying the hell out of Pikmin right now, and the Wii controls are actually useful instead of feeling tacked on.

Anyone else into the new Wii Play Controls series? What GCN games would you like to see ported over?

I'd love to see Zelda: Wind Waker done, waving the Wiimote around for the baton might be cool...

The Metroid Primes are instant buys for me when they hit.

I would like Nintendo to make new games instead of doing this... But to each his own.

I bought Mario Tennis today. I never played the Cube version and after ten minutes with it at Play N Trade I had to have it. Even in the basic controls style you can either play it like Wii tennis (characters move on their own) or you can use the dpad to move. The advance controls dont feel terribly tacked on, but then again I have only played it for an hour or so. If you liked the N64 version and skipped the Cube one, well worth your $30. An excellent party game.

Cube games I would like to get the treatment:
Windwaker is an obvious choice for me.
Battalion Wars - just give us the maps/missions on the new engine.
Cubivore
Custom Robo - or the inevitable Wii sequel

And ofcourse we would all like new games, but if they can put these out with little work taken away from the new games, whats the problem?

i never played any of the tennis games, but i think i might look into the wii play control one. I think you sold me on this. I find as i reluctantly get older i am getting into sports and racing games that are a bit off the beaten path.

but yeah- as much as i like getting a second chance on games i didn't play the first time... I would like new ones. I would hate for the wii library to fall into a gamecube library.

I have mixed feelings on Wii New Play Control series. I do like that Nintendo is giving a second chance to gamers to play Gamecube classics that may have missed out the first time. Regardless it's still a win for gamers overall. I guess to each his own.. 8) As far as what titles I think should be released I can't think of any since I basically have all the best of GC library.. so no big deal for me
Odyssey,Vectrex,Atari 2600,5200,7800,Intellivision,Colecovision,NES,Master System,SNES,Genesis,32X,CD,CDX,Virtual Boy,TG-16,Neo-Geo AES,Jaguar+CD,PSX,PSOne,Saturn,3DO,N64,DC,PS2,Xbox,GCN,Wii,Xbox 360,PS3,GB,GB Pocket,GBC,Lynx,Game Gear,Nomad,NGPC,GBA,GBA SP,GB Micro,DS,PSP,PSP Slim,WS,WS Color,3DS,Vita,PC,iPhone,WiiU

I think it is great that companies are making ports and remakes for the Wii, because it gives Nintendo only fans a chance to play other console games(okami, bully) , and give a chance for great games that was never much appreciated , to be appreciated again. It is true you can run gcn games on the Wii but they can be low in numbers and ports replenish the supplies, plus you can't say no to better graphics and new gameplay.

The problem that is making me angry is that the Wii is becoming a "Remake & Port" console. Its like a console of the past, it plays everything int he past. What about now? What about Motion control? Play VC and Ports are supposed to be an extra option to give extra value to the Wii, not its mainstream of games supply.

The Wii is a the east between the 2 others to be taken advantage off.
