TROGDOR'S REVENGE

Re: How's your TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine Going on
Annoyingly my PC Engine Core system has now been on my island for 5 days! winging its way very slowly from one post office to another.
I'm so fed up of waiting for it that I feel like driving down to the post office and intercepting it!
On the plus side, in the intervening time, I have at least received a game to play on it:

I began playing Bonk's Adventure on an emulator on my Nvidia Shield Portable. The controls are a little clunky and the graphics look like a super early Sega Genesis game, but the art style is hilarious and it's fun.

Cleaned up the tg16 and my other systems just a quick dusting and some all basic cleaner and started to use the turbo stick and it's a great nes advantage clone
Re: How's your TurboGrafx 16/PC Engine Going on
The joystick ball tops for the Turbo Stick and the NES Advantage are interchangeable, so you can make a Turbo Stick with a black ball topper and an Advantage with an Orange topper.

Well, I now have 2 games and still no console as the Post Office infuriatingly continue to move slower than a turtle in giving it to the postman (I can see by the tracking that it has been sitting there for two days).
I guess there is a lot of mail coming in because of Christmas but in the unlikely event that Santa is under their employment I'm going to drive down and just try to collect it from them tomorrow morning. Otherwise Christmas will have come and gone before the next delivery.
Anyway, at least they delivered Populous to me so I can enjoy reading the instruction manual which is amusingly laid out as a comic!

Finally scraped together enough money for Neutopia II (North American TG-16 version). Super stoked as I love the first game. It has one of the most underrated soundtracks in all of gaming. I also have Brandish (PCE CD) on the way as well. Curious to see how this differs from the SNES port.
Unless I can find a "reasonably priced" copy of Dungeon Explorer II I am completely done with the North American scene. It's all PC Engine from here on out.

Dungeon Explorer II is weird. The stats have a much more visible effect. For example, your character will feel very sluggish and delayed until you up your agility a bit.
The original was so good because it was Atlus.
