Jordan Reed is out with an injury for the Redskins this weekend. I have two solid replacement choices...

Vernon Davis - The Redskins number two tight end. Kirk Cousins loves to use his TEs as a safety blanket. This guy still puts up decent fantasy numbers even with Reed playing. He should see a lot more targets, but they're going up against the Cardinals who are ranked number one against TEs in fantasy.

CJ Fiedorowicz - It's lately been a close race between him and DeAndre Hopkins for most targets on the Texans, so he should see a good volume. Brock Osweiler is the bottleneck (aka terrible) here and the whole team has a problem moving the ball most weeks. Good news is that they are matched up against the much softer and beat up Packers defense on Sunday.

Any suggestions? Flip a coin?

That's my instinct as well. Plus, Davis has been pretty good in the past.

Well my ff season sucked. Missed the playoffs losing my last game cause I left someone on the bench I didn't feel needed to start. Throw in my disaster at rb and qb and I just couldn't score enough.

At least my team the cowboys are doing good, kinda worried that dak has hit a rookie wall since he hasn't devolved a down the field passing game yet. Dinking and dumping can only get you so far.

I think that was just how that game went. Tampa Bay was on a roll defensively coming into that game.

I survived the first round of the playoffs, now to start Arizona or San Diego?

Good job making the playoffs.

It's been like that for awhile with dak. It'll come I think. Part of the problem is the play calling. I looked back at that tampa bay game. All the receivers, and I mean all, are going on 15+ except the rb which goes in the flat. All teams are rushing 7. 4 defensive lineman and 3 linebackers are rushing against 4 or 5 lineman for dallas. He has no time when all the receivers are running long developing routes. Have to change it up some. I didn't watch a whole lot of dak at msu so I don't know if he aired it out much but this it the book on him now. Stack the line. He has to adjust.

He definitely threw the deep ball some here at State. His accuracy was a bit spottier, though, so he's clearly put a lot of work in to bring that up to snuff. He also ran a lot more, especially in the year we made #1. I'm surprised they haven't used that more, but I'm happy they're being judicious with him.

He might not be throwing the deep ball a ton, but he's been relatively successful when he's done it. He stacks up quite favorably with much of the competition, even if he isn't a gunslinger. Keep those chains moving. If he can keep hitting the short and intermediate stuff, it may not matter.

I think a lot of the deep stuff is also contingent on Dez Bryant getting it all put together. He's been remarkably inconsistent, and I don't think that's all on Dak. Some is health, but he's had a lot of drops, too.

Maybe he's just mega-Alex Smith, but maybe that's enough. For a rook, he's been downright amazing, and even without controlling for that, he's definitely above average at the QB position. I hope he keeps getting better, I want to root for him for 10+ years.

Dez Bryant is overvated to me. I don't see it, I'm in the minority though lol. He defiantly should run more though. I guess it's cool if he montana a team down the field. The trade off though it's hard to expect a line to do a 12 play drive without a penalty. You got to convert a 2nd and 15 every once in awhile. Long yardage kills Dak every single time.

Woo! By some miracle, despite David Johnson going down early, I pulled out my fantasy football league championship. Been a little while since I've been on top of the heap. Last league championship was in... 2012. Finished third in 2011 (my first year playing) and in 2014. Made the playoffs all but one year, and led the league several times in points, but came up short in the playoffs. Welp, not this year. :)

Sigh. Maybe Carolina can get an o-line not made of balsa wood and swiss cheese next year.
