Re: The Comic Book Thread
Nice! I ended up picking up #0 of Inhumans vs. X-Men too, as well as #1. by the way. I'll let you know what I think of the series when they come. Hopefully the Christmas post doesn't delay them coming until after Christmas.

Anyone notice how Injustice is kind of a ripoff of Kingdom Come?

I've not read either. I've played the Injustice game, but couldn't tell you what the plot of it was.marurun wrote:Anyone notice how Injustice is kind of a ripoff of Kingdom Come?

Also I wanted to plug Guardians Of The Galaxy #15 as a great jumping-on point for the series.

It's actually really cool as the Guardians are stuck on Earth and issue #15 here starts the new story and focuses on The Thing along w/ flashbacks to his FF days and then ties into the new Infamous Iron Man series where Doctor Doom has decided to become a good guy, which seems suspicious of course.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
any of you guys read any of The Pulse?

^I read the first volume ("Thin Air," or issues 1-5) and I thought it was awesome. It's like mashing Jessica Jones up with Spider-Man, which is great if you ask me.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
maybe some of you dudes can help me w/ some old comics suggestions. Specifically, from the 90's. I'm compiling a chronological list of 90's comics I want to go back and read or re-read. Here's the thing, though... I want them to be in the form of trade paperback compilations (NOT big huge hardcover omnibus books) or single graphic novels. And I want them to be 'important' or worth reading for some specific reason. Basically, I'm trying to create some kind of 90's comics syllabus for myself for the upcoming year.
So far I have a tentative list of MARVEL stuff put together. Which I'll list below. There's also probably another dozen or more Marvel titles I came up with that I feel like maybe aren't all that necessary right now. But maybe I missed something that y'all think I should add to this reading list.
Once I nail down the Marvel stuff pretty good, I'll be doing DC (and Image, and others) as well and integrating them into the list in a decent order. But I guess my plan is to try to make it pretty tight and solid so that I don't overwhelm myself or get burnt out.
Anyway, here's what I've come up with so far. Stuff in bold is stuff I definitely want to read. Stuff NOT in bold is stuff I'm unsure of....
1990:
Spider-Man: Torment
Elektra Lives Again
1991:
The Amazing Spider-Man: Return Of The Sinister Six
X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda
The New Fantastic Four: Monsters Unleashed
Infinity Gauntlet
X-Men: Mutant Genesis
1992:
Avengers: Galactic Storm
The Invincible Iron Man: War Machine
Spider-Man: Carnage
Captain America: Man & Wolf
The Punisher: War Zone
Infinity War
The Incredible Hulk: Ghost Of The Past
X-Men: X-Cutioner's Song
1993:
Venom: Lethal Protector
Deadpool: The Circle Chase
Spider-Man: Maximum Carnage
Infinity Crusade
X-Men: Fatal Attractions
Daredevil: The Man Without Fear
1994:
Marvels
Deadpool: Sins Of The Past
Spider-Man: Clone Saga
1995:
X-Men: Age Of Apocalypse
1996:
Captain America: Operation Rebirth
X-Men: Onslaught
1997:
1998:
Heroes Reborn: The Return
1999:
Avengers Forever
X-Men: The Hunt For Professor Xavier
Daredevil: Guardian Devil
X-Men: Magneto War
Earth X
...thoughts are welcome. Please and thank you.

X-Men: Generation X Classic Vol 1&2
Not quite the 90's but this sets up all 90's X-Men stories:
1988- X-Men Fall of the Mutants
