So I've mentioned in the GameStop thread we mentioned the dumpster finds which I don't think anyone has really gotten anything worth saying wow look what I got. We are now at the point in gaming where people go to GameStops dumpsters and try to find stuff. Well here is the thread for that. I don't believe you get anything really great besides cases and displays and for me who has no space for it, I don't care so much.
But post your finds and pics of pickups here and let's see what people find.

can't say ive hit their dumpsters, but a buddy who used to manage one hooked me up with a bunch of swag & penny stock guides years back.
god, whenever it was they got rid of all their retro stuff - not sure if that was around 2000 or later? - there must have been so very much quality that got tossed/destroyed.

Heard to many horror stories of people getting chased off by employees/security so I've never bothered. Stores are really touchy about that stuff anymore
. When I worked at Toys R Us stuff still got pennied out, but if we found an item for a penny we were supposed to guard it with our lives and make sure it was put in the back for donation or destruction.
Heck Toys R Us was even touchy about employees taking promotional stuff that was set out for destruction

Ya'll are talking about going into unsanitary conditions to retrieve worthless games.
Can you imagine a guy in the hospital?
The doctor walks in, "Son, your tests came back positive for sepsis. How ever did you contract it?"
The guy replies, "I just had to get that copy of Kinectimals out of the Gamestop dumpster, Doc!"

I looked at some videos of it and I'm not sure if some are real or not.
Like I saw one when a guy pulled out a dreamcast and a 360 out. Seriously who would throw out a dreamcast?
Every employee I know would go nuts if someone says keep it to the dreamcast in the store I go to. They would never throw a dreamcast out

It probably is worth pointing out, as others have, that they pretty much have to field-destroy everything. It sucks, but I'm sure it's an order from corporate. It takes an awful lot for them to not sell it, so it probably is worthless, at least for the games.
Also, the dumpster behind my GameStop is probably pretty clean, given the businesses in their general vicinity. But you're not going to find anything in there anymore, most likely.
The penny guides were the best thing, and a lot of times, the employees would just give them away to the regular customers (like me!). I'd also track the thread on CAG and retrieve stacks of guides before they hit the dumpster. I got some pretty cool stuff that way! I don't think they allow that anymore, either.
