Interesting choice, that. Will be fascinating to see how it turns out.

Looks cool, hopefully it's faster and smoother than that goofy X-Men vs SF SNES prototype

It'll never be a glorious and well-made as Shaq Fu.

Certainly an odd choice. I guess it's a way to make it stand out, at the cost of being a lot harder to develop and distribute.

You know, Shaq-Fu has a terrible reputation, but it's certainly not the worst fighting game out there. If you think of it more as a cinematic fighter (Delphine Software, after all), then it all makes sense.

If it's any good, and reasonably priced, I'm sure I'll take a stab at it. I did the same for Pier Solar, and I also dumped money into the pretty bleh Star Odyssey. Also waiting for that next run of Beggar Prince, I ordered a copy finally.

More importantly, this is not just a new fighting games for the SNES, but a new fighting game for the SNES by Ex-SNK developers! Now, THAT'S interesting! :D

Yeah, it's not just some random dudes, it's ex-SNK devs. So I have a little more hope for it.

That being said, the devs of Pier Solar weren't Game Arts employees or anything, and that turned out pretty well.

Not necessarily. It depends on total approach. If they try and do what Eli (Piko) does with Piko Interactive, you develop for one platform and if success is found or perhaps you start there and go out, you branch to others. Android would be a no brainer for this one as there are very solid SNES emulators for the device they could license or rework for use. These are ex-SNK developers after all, not some two bit operation destined to fail or be the rare chance of solid good luck like Pier Solar ended up being.

I think it's a pretty smart choice as if you're going to go with old hardware it is the best cartridge sized base choice to go with based on cost alone. Sure it probably would have been awesome had they gone the Neo Geo MVS/AES route but the bootleg parts on that stuff alone would price it up there looking at other after market 'commercial' affairs. This way they can get a 32Mbit game out, cheaply, to a very popular format that wouldn't corrode the quality of the game due to a poorer audio output or lower color base.

That said being a MVS owner...I'm hurt, I'd buy that on there.
