New Seiken Densetsu and Breath of Fire games dropped in 2016

First we have Adventures of Mana on Vita (PSN), Android, and iOS. I grabbed the Vita version. It's another remake of Final Fantasy Adventure. This time in (ugh) 3D. Honestly, what I've played isn't bad. It's just mediocre. The game doesn't seem to have any reason to exist. And the $13.99 price tag is a tough pill to swallow.


Next, Breath of Fire 6: Hakuryū no Shugosha-tachi. This one was released in Japan only for Windows, iOS, and Android. I chose to download the Android version. It's free, which had me worried. I go to download aaaaannnnd "this game is not available in your country." What the shit. A region-locked digital game. So I grab TunnelBear, make a "Japanese" Google account, and twenty minutes later the game is mine. And it sucks. Some sort of freemium MMO type of thing. Just awful. Pretty graphics though!

And there you have it. Will these series ever return to their former glory?

I was mildly interested in the Mana remake when it first released, but after watching some gameplay footage I wasn't impressed. I'd rather play the GBA version even.

That particular BoF game is just nope.

I've known about both for quite a while. Only Adventures of Mana interested me, as a remake of the original Seiken Densetsu, but it apparently hews too closely. I don't feel like dropping the dough on it.

The BoF game, by all accounts, is trash. I expected it to be when it was announced, and some members on another board confirmed it on release.
