What's the best game released the year you were born? Let's be flexible here - any "version" of a game is okay whether it be an original release, port, remake, whatever.

Ultima III: Exodus (various computers)
Let's face it. The first couple of Ultima games are really clunky. Part three showcases some massive improvements made to the series, like more complex combat and plenty of dynamic NPC interaction. Definitely check this one out on GOG.com, though I personally also have a soft spot for the Famicom/NES port released later on.

Mr. Do! (ColecoVision)
The ColecoVision had some great arcade ports and this one is no exception. While Dig Dug will always be the digging game to most, Mr Do! is way more complex and fun. You're given the option to complete stages in a variety of ways - by going full Rambo with a projectile weapon, luring enemies into traps, or avoiding enemies completely and simply seeking out items. One of the better second gen high score chasers.

Donkey Kong Junior (ColecoVision)
Another great port. I appreciate how different it is from the first game, with the two-handed climbing, conveyor belts, and keys. Flawless controls; one of the must-play early platformers.
