Review: Retro Game Challenge

Post by timewarpgamer »

I picked up this game a couple of weeks ago, since I liked the title, the reviews, and the themes. Now, having played through all of the challegnes, I must say that I'm pretty damn impressed, and I'm SO glad that XSEED Games published it in North America.

Hopefully, Europe will be treated to this title as well, once a publisher smartens up. Anyway, I wrote a mini-review that can be found here:

When I have the time, I hope to do a longer review, because Guadia Quest—alone—could consume quite a bit of space. I'm in the middle of playing it through for the second time right now.

I'm curious, is anybody else having trouble finding this game? I had to go to nearly a dozen stores (in three states) before I was able to track down a copy at Gamestop. I have yet to see one in a Target, Wal Mart, or Best Buy. Did they only release like 20 of these in the states?

I picked it up right after it came out, but Gamestop definitely didn't have many copies of it. Looking at vgchartz, I noticed that so far it's sold precisely 0 copies, and it's been out since 10 Feb. Not sure if that's because it's never cracked the Top 50 any week or what, but it doesn't bode well for seeing more copies of the game released. Pretty depressing, really.
