Help me pick a PSX SHMUP: Strikers 1945 or Sol Divide?

I need a SHMUP fix on my PSX. Which of these should I get and why? Both look fun to me and are in the same price range (CHEAP!), so I'm having a hard time deciding.

Strikers 1945 is undeniably the better shmup, but Sol Divide is still worth a look - however, Sol Divide's main charm is from the graphics and character/enemy designs, the gameplay isn't all that and you probably won't keep coming back to it - Strikers, on the otherhand, can be a very addictive and worthwhile shmup to sink some time into.

I haven't played either, but from what I've seen, Sol Divide seems like a much better game. The graphics look cool, anyway.

It might help if I add that I plan to get Raiden Fighters Aces next month. It seems similar to Strikers 1945, so Sol Divide might give better variety in that sense.

I have had them both and I would defenitly get striker over sol divide. sol was boring and striker simply put kicked ass. If you want a side scroller shmup I would get g darius or thunderforce 5 its expensive but what the hell. Other games I would defenitly would get if you like smups.

I actually already own Einhander and Gekioh. I tend to stray away from the R-Type games (too damn hard) except for R-Type Dimensions on XBLA since it has Infinite Mode.

I'd buy the Japanese version of Gunbird if I could find it under $15. Mobile Light Force 2 for PS2 was in my collection at one point, but it got sold. I just couldn't live with the raped boxart and title screen no matter how hard I tried.

Strikers 1945 is one of my fav shmups. Nothing special, just a good solid shooter.

Sol Divide is ass. I really tried to like it... but it's ass.

Avoid Sol Divide at all cost, the game is straight shite.
