Double posting, but I just went out to go to the park and catch some Kabuto, and had the literal best hour of pokémon hunting I've had since the game came out.
In one hour, I caught:
3 zubat (saving up for Crobat when new mons are added)
1 Golbat (see above)
4 Poliwag (saving up for Politoed)
1 Poliwrath(!)
1 Seadra
3 Magikarp (almost at my 2nd Gyarados)
1 Bulbasaur
1 Squirtle
1 Machop
1 Koffing
1 Bellsprout
2 Oddish
1 Sandshrew
1 Pikachu
1 Doduo
2 Geodude
3 Omanyte
5 Kabuto
1 Vaporeon (!)
All of those are pretty rare here, and that's not counting a few I didn;'t have time to find - another Machop and Squirtle, an Ekans and a Growlithe. 1 Kabuto got away too. I also ignored a ton of more common stuff - Paras, Shellder, Slowpoke, Psyduck, Staryu, Horsea and all the usual birds and rats.
The Oddish and Kabuto were enough that I have a shiny new Vileplume and Kabutops, bringing me down to 15 left to go!
And the Squirtle, Machop and Omanyte all gave a nice boost towards their respective final evolutions, all of which I'm relatively close too now!
I wish all days were this successful.

Re: Pokémon Go
Yesterday I spotted something that blew my mind as dumb as that may be. Signed up the day this game came out, have touched it every day. Never once on land or in a gym have I ever seen it, yet I have seen its evolution in a gym once.
Voltorb
Caught it, and of course CP32 and crap stats. I erased it, but hey check that one off and a few candies if one ever pops up again sometime that doesn't suck. Didn't even have to look for it, came up while coasting the mall parking lot looking for a spot (I wasn't driving.) I really wish it hadn't sucked so bad. I have nearly the same issue with Mankey. Only ever come across it just like 3x and the first one in an egg, and every single time, awful, even the egg one. I've got these few weird white whales of what should be common and never appear, geodude being another.

Until recently, my white whale was Grimer. Now I've found 2 though.Tanooki wrote:I've got these few weird white whales of what should be common and never appear, geodude being another.
I still need Lickitung, Chansey and Snorlax though. I'm not even sure I've seen any of them on my radar before.
Makes me really suspicious how everyone seems to have 2000+ CP Snorlaxes on the gyms. I've never even seen one, and 10km eggs are super rare. I have to imagine that not this many people will have either found a Snorlax with such a good CP around here, and I certainly can;'t imagine that they've had enough candies to power up a weaker one constantly!
Is Tauros very common in the states? Until recently our region exclusive Mr. Mime was super rare, but now they're everywhere. They've replaced Drowzee and Jynx as the most ridiculously common psychic type.
Re: Pokémon Go
I've got a Snorlax over 2000CP! It was from a 10km egg and the CP buff made it even nicer.
Took a big hit on gyms in the past 24 hours. The longtime beach gym which I just visited the other day, I got kicked out of yesterday after 58 days (October 8-December 5). To be fair, that Vaporeon I had in there was still pre-buffed at 1800CP, and when I got him back, I powered it up to over 2500, reaching the current level CP cap for it. If there's room in that gym next week, it will be 3rd or 4th, guaranteeing a much longer stay. I also went around and dropped/trained 5 other gyms in the afternoon, losing them all by around 11:00 last night. The current count is at 5 this moment, and I believe I should have that number for at least a few days.
The rumors from Starbucks continue, as there has now been published bulletins for its employees that a new drink is going to be released that has a Pokémon Go theme. In addition, many Starbucks locations here in the United States will become Pokéstops for this promotion. The bulletin mentioned "new Pokémon" coming out, but nothing specific to Gen 2. The promotion starts this Thursday (12/8).
As for Tauros, somebody tell me where to get one, or a Porygon or a Lapras or just whatever else I'm missing.

Re: Pokémon Go
Forgot that one, only ever seen/caught 1 grimer and it too sucked so I erased it. Lickitung I never got one except just one from an egg so I kept it as it rated strong. Chansey 1 ran, 2 caught if I recall right but thankfully the first caught is perfect or a point off it. Magnemite I've seen twice, caught twice, and got 2 eggs so I did evolve a magenton from it. Also I never see any of the Machop family, just once, it's awful, but I kept it.alienjesus wrote: Until recently, my white whale was Grimer. Now I've found 2 though.

When my wife played, she got nothing unusual other than one lucky egg that popped a really powerful Lapras. I've never once seen one wild/egg, same with a porygon. When they add trading, she'll be reinstalling the game and trading me it and anything else of value for use or candy harvesting. She quit because getting into gyms was a loss, hated people always had more time to do it than her so all the pokemon were like 2000-3000cp level stonewalling her access. I'm mostly about the collection so I'm not bored of it.
Snorlax I've seen maybe a dozen on radar at most, caught 2. My Snorlax is 1950. +2 more candies I could inch it over the 2000 mark. The other is 100s of cp weaker.
Tauros I can't go a day without seeing one, and even after their notable burst in power they still blow.
Re: Pokémon Go
Went on another weekend trip to the beach. Evolved a bunch to clear out some space and caught a bunch, but didn't spot anything new. Though I did manage to find two Dratini, a couple Omanyte and a Kabuto. Also saw an Electabuzz show up on the radar, which was a first. But though I didn't catch anything new, I did get enough candies to finally evolve a new-
Rhydon CP1857
It's got a bizarre moveset of Rock Smash and Megahorn (
), but it's one less 'mon for the Pokedex.
One awesome thing that happened this weekend was that while I was out at the beach (one populated with several Poke Stops) was that I was given not one, not two, not three, but four 10k eggs in the same day
Considering it's been about 3 weeks since the last 10k egg dropped, I was quite surprised. One of them hasn't hatched yet, but the takeaway so far has been-
Magmar CP1253 (My third *sobs*)
Hitmonchan CP1159
Lapras CP1671 (Sorry, Exed)
I'm a little less than 4k away from hatching the last one and crossing my fingers in the hope for something new.

Re: Pokémon Go
I've never seen the electabuzz, or either of the fossils but one, once, I think I caught it but I forget as that was summer.
I get stiffed on variety I think.
Am I alone in that the game seems to had out almost exclusively 5k eggs? I can not remember the last time I saw a 10k, and I do get the occasional 2k but that's it and it has been that way since a couple months ago or so. Kind of pissed about it as I'd hope to get something I lack from the 10k type.

Nah, I get 5k eggs 90% of the time. 2k are maybe 8% and 10k are super uncommon.Tanooki wrote:I've never seen the electabuzz, or either of the fossils but one, once, I think I caught it but I forget as that was summer.

Hitmonchan is also in 10k egg? I'd like one of those too (and a better Lee while I'm at it).
I got 2 10k eggs now, one hatched tonight, Scyther with Night Slash (?), no need for that since I have 2 far better versions with Bug Buzz (THE Exeggutor killer).
If I had a really good Lapras, I'd be in a gym for a LONG time. Right now I'm trying to get more than 5. I dropped one off in a high traffic place tonight, if I get 6 for a day it'll be great.

Re: Pokémon Go
Pokémon tweeted that new Pokémon are coming and to stay tuned for more details on December 12th.
I guess there's our confirmation!
