Seriously. I just can't understand why people still put up with GameSlop.

If it's a new game, I get it off Amazon. If it's old and rare, I get if off eBay. I've been using this method since 2007 with no regrets.
I usually only go to Gamestop if they're having a Buy X Get X Free sale, like Sarge said.

GameSlop could be handing out free Vitas and I still wouldn't step foot in the place. I boycott them out of principle. They don't give a damn about video games or the people who buy them.

Pretty much the way I swing now is BestBuy/Amazon for new games. Best Buy has 20% off for both preorders and new games in general plus some AAA titles actually have a $10 gift card for preordering as well as extras like my Gears of War 4 mug/coaster set. Stacking GCU with regular sales and daily deals at best buy can net you some awesome discounts and since it's 20% off all games they are usually the cheapest place to go to if your wanting to buy new.

Gamestop on the other hand has the best used inventory on hand out of any physical retailer so they are my go to place for just discovering games and snagging some cheap used deals. Really now that Amazon has started doing 20% off preorders/new release for the first week Gamestop really needs to consider providing that discount as well since with Amazon/Best Buy both offering it now their sales on newer products have to be taking a dive.

Now if they would only stop putting so many stickers. At least now a bit easier to remove compared to years ago. <ducks for cover> Oh wait, why are they now putting a black sticker under the price sticker!? :?

I guess technically I'm buying more used games from Amazon now that I think about it  . Their warehouse deals which are basically trade ins, damaged goods, and returns are pretty sweet. They also usually do a pretty good jobs of describing their condition and they have inventory for pretty much every consoles. Plus there is the added bonus of it getting shipped right to your door and if you have an order that exceeds $1 you can choose no rush and get a $1 credit for digital content(games, movies, etc. works for PSN/XBL currency/memberships as well :)). You also get 5% cash back if you use their store card :) :) :). Returns are also insanely easy and they pay return shipping as long as you have a valid reason for the return.

Yeah definitely not as bad as back when it was GBA/cardboard boxes. I miss those GBA boxes I'd had over the years so much...soon they'll be replaced with a ds equivalent though...

At least they don't cut out the UPCs the places that did that drove me freaking crazy :P. That and re sellers who put sticker on disc :P.

One thing that kind of bugs me is recently I've noticed alot more used imported games slipping into their inventory mostly in the PS3 section. Sure those games are playable on a US PS3 since there is no region locking but you still run into issues with DLC and multiplayer.

There is one category of game purchases that I use Gamestop for at this point:

Current generation used games. They CAN have some decent prices on those.

I don't mean a game that game out a month ago and someone traded it in. Those prices usually suck. But a game that came out 1-2 years ago, their prices are pretty good compared to my local Craigslist where people seem to think that their used games are worth $2 less than they payed for them brand new...
